My Fault was initially planned to be a single, but

Interscope didn't want to release it as a single, though, 'cause if I came with that after "My Name Is" instead of "Guilty Conscience", I would've looked like a fuckin' bubblegum artist. Two goofy songs right back-to-back. That probably would've fucked me up till this day. The song . . . not the 'shrooms.

I think it's more to do with the fact it's new and fresh - no time yet to really get bored of the songs. I think the results would be different for Recovery, in say, a year.

True, which might explain why the 'worse' songs still seem hot. But, to be fair, maybe the 'best' songs from MMLP and TES only dominated because they are old and have had time to become 'classics' and part of our memories.
