The Smallest Particle of an Atom ...
... is a Universe. I have been trying to disprove this theory of mine, yet I cannot seem to. It just seems too perfect. Think about it. If we actually discovered that there was a "smallest particle of an atom," and it was the most basic possible entity of matter ... well, then wouldn't we still wonder what that particle is made of? How could there be a smallest particle, unless it were a Universe? It seems like such a perfect explanation. To think that matter is actually made up of infinitely smaller and smaller particles makes sense to me, because it's such a mysterious explanation yet it seems justifiable. Could the universe really even have some less interesting explanation in store for us? Could there actuallty be a "smallest particle" that is simply the makeup of all matter?
The universe is all about circles/spheres. The circles may be stretched or elongated, hence the elliptical shape of planetary orbits. Also, I think that all planets are oblate spheroids, right? As in, they are spheres that are being elongated at the middle due to the rotation of the planet. On the largest scale, these circles and spheres can be seen. Planets orbit suns, planets rotate, certain stars rotate around each other, galaxies rotate, moons revolve around planets, etc. Then we have the small scale. We see the atom as a spherical object. It has a nucleus at its center, made up of protons and neutrons. The nucleus is surrounded by another spherical layer, the electron cloud. Doesn't it seem like a perfect explanation to think that at the absolute smallest scale (even though there theoretically wouldn't be a smallest particle), there is just another universe, and in that universe, everything is revolving and rotating just like it is here, an infinite cycle of circles and spheres that make up the very fabric of time and space?
If this were true, then it could mean that there are beings in other universes that are millions of times smaller and/or larger than us. Maybe these universes are even paralell to our own. So in other words, the very lives we are living right now are being duplicated in every particle of matter in existence. They're just smaller. I'm looking at a table right now, wondering if somewhere in that table, maybe a nearly unimaginably tiny version of me is sitting at a laptop typing this exact same thing, completely unaware that he is part of a table in my universe.
But is there an ending to it all? How can everything be infinite like that? Who knows. Maybe there is an end. Maybe this universe is the master universe, which would mean that our universe is not simply a particle of matter in a larger universe. But to think that way seems kind of close-minded and it goes against the grain in my mind. This universe is full of mysteries. I think that if this theory would be true, it would be mind-blowing, yet simultaneously very simplistic. And that, in my mind, is just how I would describe the universe as we perceive it. It's crazy that all these things are happening all around us, yet everything is governed by a set of laws. Although many of these laws may seem highly complicated to many of us, they are really just simple and perfect.
***And here's a little side thought:
I've been thinking ... we humans think we are so advanced now, when we're really not. In fact, we are currently considered a Type 0 civilization, and the one thing that puts us anywhere close to being Type 1 is the internet. We are on the brink of some type of leap or change in the way we think. I believe that what makes humans special is our cultural aspects, such as art, music, and language. Those are the advanced traits of a human, traits that may even be somewhat unique to humans. We have these advanced traits that we've been progressively developing over thousands of years. Yet at the same time, we still have these primitive characteristics that we live with every day and don't really notice.
Think about it this way: have you ever thought about why people like to play games like Call of Duty or League of Legends online? I mean, it's basically just the same thing over and over again. We're trying to come out on top, get the most kills, outsmart the other players. Sure, you can say that you like playing for the strategy of it all. But deep down, you know you're just waiting for that game where you go 25 - 1 (25 kills, 1 death), so that you can feel like you're better than everyone else. As someone I know phrased it, "it's like rams butting heads, just more technology involved." And maybe this partly lies in our strong idea of self-preservation. Through things like online games, we can show our superiority without actually putting ourselves in danger.
I think that as humans evolve, we will eventually lose all of these primitive traits, and focus more on our advanced ones. Art, music, language. Maybe we'll even develop new ones. And what if there were a way to speed up the evolutionary process? If you think about it, there must be a part of the brain that controls how we evolve. For instance, let's say the sun just turned off tomorrow forever. And let's just accept that somehow, humans could survive without it, for the purpose of the example. Ok, so we cannot see anything, yet seeing is an important part of how we survive. We need to get food, and seeing really helps a lot with achieveing that core goal. But it's all dark now. So we would need to either develop our other 4 senses more, or evolve eyes which somehow enable us to see in absolute darkness. But that would happen over generations and generations. Our brains would progressively alter the genetic makeup of our bodies until the desired change is completed. How does that even work? It is almost as if there is some kind of collective gene pool which lies undiscovered in some recess of our minds.
