You guys are like the English teacher who reads the book and looks at all the symbolism and meaning of shit that isn't there.

Almost all of them. It's more prominent on Relapse, which would make sense that some of it rubs off more here.

Anyway, I've come to the conclusion that you are both the same man-baby desperate for attention and trolling here, because neither of you has said anything intelligent about the lyrics whatsoever, and both of you keep drooling out the same bullshit.

Peace, have fun being a lame.

That was a SHADY Album dude! and he didn't spittin Random shit in everydirection in one song! Every single song had focused subject matter! You really need to reconsider the way you think of Eminem. I've read his book dude he doesn't do that. He spends days and weeks carefully crafting his lyrics. Every single song on this album has clear focused subject matter and All the similes and metaphors are clever as hell in mulitiple ways. And yet this one song he starts out focused for three or four bars just enough to tell us what the song is about, then spazzes out spittin random shit in every direction?? no way pal...

"You can look, you can stare and point
But you can’t touch, I’m too clairvoyant"

So Em is literally saying he's clairvoyant?

or is it a metaphor? :facepalm2

What the fuck are you talking about. No he isn't literally clairvoyant, no he doesn't literally flow like troys hair. It's wordplay. What are you getting at.

King lol That's exactly what we're saying! it's all wordplay but each and every word play has a meaning.

"MC’s get so quiet you can hear
A motherfucking dog whistle when I walk by"

Means He's so good other MC's wouldn't dare open their mouths and try to test him.

And "Does this look like an arcade, trying to play games?
See this saw blade? See this silhouette
Of a stalker in your walkway? Better cooperate
Or get sauteed and rotisseried while you’re hog-tied

Translates to - He aint playin He'll murder your ass, Right?

So were just tryna figure out the car & motor metaphor, and the pennies quarters..?

Jay’s flow isn’t as great, but a few of his lines show his ability to use metaphor and double-meaning to plumb the depths of language in a way Eminem cannot match.... Jay’s voice doesn’t boom quite as Eminem’s does on this track, but his poetry is more intelligent. ... And that, to me, is what separates Eminem and Jay-Z. When Eminem is at the top of his game, his genius is immediately apparent because it sounds great. But Em is usually incapable of employing double meaning

They were ripped to shreds and made to look stupid in the comments but The problem is that the site is becoming very popular, as it allows anyone to help interpret/ decipher the lyrics. The site owner's dish out points to people who submit accurate or close to accurate interpretations.. It's a actually a really great idea, and it has the potential for becoming a Rap lyric encyclopedia. But it will also be able to show the lyrical depth of each Rapper. So to make sure Em gets the respect he deserves a good many of us Em peeps on twitter, have been making sure the slimy dumbing down of his geniuses that Beth ( a another Rap Genius visitor) busted them doing isn't happening...

We are on The untitled track here - http://rapgenius.com/lyrics/Eminem/Here ... n-t-own-me

The site doesn't have a forum where we can ask other Em Fans to come discuss the song, so we're asking here

If it's so obvious why is there so much analysis?

Um I think he meant it's obvious the song's metaphors have double meanings, But do you know what those meanings are? Cuz some of them we don't get.

do you know what this one means

"Eenie-meenie-miney-mo, catch an eskimo by his toe
While he’s trying to roll a snowball
But, don’t make him lose his cool
If he hollers better let him go y’all"

Eminef wrote:I don’t gas my Mercedes

Is this metaphor about Em becoming Shady & shady not having limits on who he'll murder?

Even though Eminem has a powerful, German car (rather than a crappy Gremlin), he pushes the pedal to the metal

Referencing Mogwai from the movie Gremlins, Em knows not to gas (feed) his Mercedes (Mogwai) after midnight, or it will turn into a Gremlin. If you’re still confused, just go watch the movie. It’s not that complex

Did you think it’ll cost me a pretty penny
Shit, if I think a penny’s pretty
Just imagine how beautiful a quarter is to me
Eenie-meenie-miney-mo, catch an eskimo by his toe
While he’s trying to roll a snowball
But, don’t make him lose his cool
If he hollers better let him go y’all

Does Eminem take girls out on dates? Are pigs kosher?

Notice that — in recycling the pig’s line from the famous fable — he casts HIMSELF as the pig and the girl as a wolf (appropriate!)
Image
If a “pretty penny” is a fortune, a “pretty quarter” would truly be a grip of cash money
Eminem’s literal playfulness makes him the Mad Hatter of Rap
Eminem is doing an Arctic rendition of Justin Bieber’s song “Eenie-meenie”

That's the literal meanings. If those are meant to be taken literally then they are the only lines in the whole song that are literal. And the only random unfocused lines in song. all the rest make perfect sense when translated. He isn't literally talking about cars and creatures.

They are metaphors just like all the rest. it's the same type of metaphor as the lighting metaphor in Won't Back down.. "And they say that it never strikes twice, In the same place so how the fuck have I Been hit 6 times in 3 different locations on 4 separate occasions" Em hasn't literally been hit by lightening, and if we took it that way they'd be the only lines in the whole song that were random and unfocused. He's saying
"Hit"6 times = albums, 3 locations = the U.S., Europe, and the U.K, 4 occasions = 4 Grammy's for Best Rap Album.

Same here, what is the transforming from Mercedes, mogwai, & gremlin, a metaphor for? Marshall, Eminem, and Shady?
and what the motor so big you can fit a midget in it?

I know "far-fetched" when I see it...

6 albums? was he counting Recovery before it was released?
Why skip Australia and Asia? his albums were hits their too.
4 Grammies? he has a total of 11 grammies, why ignore the other ones?
If he was counting Recovery before it was released, he might as well count its Rap Album Grammy.

Justin Bieber's song??? noo it's Eminem's "My Dad's Gone Crazy". in that song he says
eenee, meenee, meini, mo, catch a homo by his toe

:facepalm That site is a joke!
