Tha Carter 2 is considered a classic by ALOT of people, most real hip hop heads.

I have honestly not heard one person say that before you.

Your standards on a classic must be really low then. "The album was ranked #27 on Rolling Stone's list of the top albums of 2007." So there was at least 26 other classics? And you can't take anything MTV says because the are the biggest shithole ever. I ain't a hater cause I'll say they are good albums but they are far from classics. Unless your idea of a classic is much different from mine.

This is were you fail, the MIXTAPE was so good it has gotten recognized as a ALBUM. that pretty much wipes it up. Other then wayne what rapper mixtape has gotten recognition as being a classic ALBUM other then drake's so far gone" did you click on the second link? because if you did you would of saw dedication 2 (mixtape) was ranked by rhapsody as the #17 best ALBUM of the decade.

Hiphopdane wrote:Who are those "real hip hop" heads? Some you've met on a message board or read about on some news site? How does that make them real?

MTV praised the fuck out of Gucci Mane too.

I go on "real hip hop heads" sites such as hiphopdx, rapbasement, thisis50 and although they talk shit about wayne recent work like rebirth and his over use of autotune they say tha carter 2 and along with alot of his mixtapes are classics, and if you don't want to take there word for it take the words of jay-z, raekwon, nas, eminem and others who most likely know more about hip hop then any of you here.

Standards don't change from album to mixtape. Let's look at that Rhapsody list, the only hip hop in front of it was Outkast- Stankonia, Kanye West- College Dropout, Mad Villian- Mad Villiany. I'm pretty sure they can be discredited. Although MF Doom is a beast I'm pretty sure I could name 20-25 albums better then the other 2, let alone The Dedication 2. Lil Wayne isn't good enough lyrically to make a classic album, let alone all the other foundations of rap music.

Actually I used to be a Lil Wayne fan, back when these were released. I have them. They are no where near classics. Sports Center was being praised on your link right,

Cover my tracks like butter so where da bread be
I see beef as dead meat
Who dat, the president, yea me, no one scare me
And you ain't gotta double dare me, hear me
Loud and clearly, rats aren't near me
Wire tap, niggas get blood in the earpiece
I'm from New Orleans, nowhere near peace
Pure beast, fear free, dear grief
Catch up bitch, I'm in gear three, zoom, gone, see ya, peace, drop one on the finger
Fuck a man whoever made him
I will hurt whoever love him cause I hate him
Looking for a lady, high and sedated
Got her to the pad I don't know a nigga made it
She gave me relations so now we related
The morning comes, the picture faded
I'm waited on my turn to burn, can I get a light

Yeah, thats classic material :facepalm

One of Wayne's "Classic" verses on his "Classic" mixtape "No Ceilings"

O-Ok, I got this chrome on this Bugatti
I’m strong in this Bugatti
Two v8’s ain’t no such thing as driving calm in this Bugatti
Bitch I’m bad
I’m worse
I pass the purp
Don’t fuck with me ‘cause right now I’m higher than Cap-tain Kirk
I swear I be the sickest nigga, You can ask the nurse
And if you throw it in the bag, I bet I’ll snatch her purse
Ok I spazz, I curse
You last, I’m first
I’m on your ass- like dirt
Behind that cash- get murked
I’m talkin’ big shit nigga- join my hitlist nigga
What’s the matter? Check your bladder, I’m the shit- piss nigga
Shoot the witness, nigga
Whole court in the streets
And convict this nigga
Oh, dickless nigga
Man I’m runnin’ with the blucka
Young money motherfucka
You think we gon’ do our thing?
Well ain’t it sunny in the summer?
And we coming for the commas
And whoever among us
And you know Imma bust my ass until my crew very humongous
I said T.I. hold ya head
And Mack hold ya head
Wish I could, but I can’t say some other names ‘cause of the feds
And to my bloods- cold red
Man you know how we plead
And if it cost to be the boss, oh well, I guess I gotta pay
I-I’m a New Orleans nigga, I don’t take no shit
Take the brain off the whip, now it don’t make no sense
Stunt hard on these bitches, I ain’t promise tomorrow
Now when they kicking it wit me, like Nomar Garciaparra
Flute rollin’, killin’ plants, the lil shop of horror
And we roll them bitches thick- make ‘em look like Toccara (Jones)
Man I’m too much for these niggas, and three much for these hoes
The World is in my hands, and I keep my hands closed

Tell me thats good LW4L....please because I'll disect this shit and tell you piece by piece why its complete shit...please

Fair enough LW4L...but here is a verse from an album you did say was a classic

Bring the crowd and I'm loud _In Living Colour_
It is Weezy fuckin' baby got these rappers in my stomach <<----What the fuck
Yumi, I'm takin' it I ain't asking them for nothing
If you sell a million records we can battle for ya' money
I rather count a hundred thousand dollars on a sunday
Watch a football game and bet it all on one play
Still stuntin' baby yes I'm still flossin
Latest car on the market wit the top peeled off it
Big wheels make it look a lil bulky
You look a lil salty have ya' self a chill coffee
Chill out the girls is still out
Even though I am a boss and got papers to fill out
I'm busy I got paper to reel in
God I hope they steppin' at the end of my rod
And I hope I'm fishing in the right pond
And I hope you catchin' on to every line
Who am I?

To be honest, Da Drought 3 is one of the only mixtapes I've heard where the tracks made from reused beats are actually better than the originals, which says a lot for me because I hated Wayne before I heard that
And even though its only a mixtape, it's more consistent than the majority of double albums
Same sword they knight you they gon' good night you with
Sh.., Thats' only half if they like you
That ain't even the half what they might do
Don't believe me, ask Michael
See Martin, see Malcolm
You see Biggie, see Pac, see success and its outcome
See Jesus, see Judas; see Caesar, see Brutus
See success is like suicide
Suicide, it's a suicide
If you succeed, prepare to be crucified
