I see a lot of people confused here. So hopefully i can straighten some of you out.
The Slim Shady LP has sold over 5,000,000 copies in the USA. It is only certified 4X Platinum though. Because Interscope hasnt paint for it to be certified 5X platinum yet.
The Marshall Mathers LP has sold over 10,250,000 Copies in the USA. It is only certified 9X platinum. So while it's eligible for Diamond, Interscope has not paid to get it certified diamond yet.
The Eminem Show has sold over 9,860,000 copies in the USA. It is only certified 8X Platinum. It is eligible for Diamond because it is over 10,000,000 copies shipped. But again Interscope has not paid to got it certified 9X Platinum or Diamond yet so therefore it's not.
Encore has sold over 5,000,000 copies in the USA. It is only certified 4X Platinum though. Because Because Interscope hasnt paid to get it certified it 5X platinum yet.
Curtain Call has sold over 3,000,000 copies sold. It is only certified 2X Platinum. Because Interscope won't pay to get it certified.
Relapse has sold over 2,000,000 copies in the USA. It isnt even certified GOLD yet. Not even GOLD. Because Interscope hasnt paid to get it certified at all.
Same with Recovery. It's over 1,000,000 and it's not certified at all yet. You can say it's just because it came out recently but when you compare it to Relapse nothing makes me think Interscope will pay to get Recovery certified.
FWIW. 8 Mile Soundtrack, The Re-Up, Devils Night, and D12 World are certified correctly.
So the conclusion is....If interscope get's their head out of there asses Eminem would have 2 Diamond Albums (MMLP and TES). But obviously Interscope and Eminem really don't care about the certifications from the RIAA because if they did they would pay to get them certified.
I'll also add this... When a label applies for certification the RIAA has a right to go through the finances of the label and stuff like that. Now im not saying Interscope, Aftermath, or Shady have anything to hide but that is maybe one reason why they won't pay for the certifications. But it could also be they just don't care to spend the money.
