To the others: why would Eminem specify "a year and six months." Which woman in his life has he not been with for a year and six months at the time of writing the song? That's right. Nobody. Eminem hasn't had a woman in his life since he divorced Kim in 2006.

How do we know Eminem hasn't had a woman in his life since he was married to Kim? Because we don't see the shit all over tv or magazines...? There is a lot about Eminem that he keeps private. Clearly. And his relationships other than with Kim seem to be one of those things.

When you say this line about a year and six months. Lets say the whole line: " So after a year and six months, it's no longer me that you want."

How and why would the drugs no longer want him? Unless you are saying verse 3 is the drugs talkin back to him. Which would be quite a stretch. Especially with what is being said right after all that in the rest of the verse.

Now with all that said. I'm not saying it's exactly impossible to be about drugs. I just think it's more about a woman. Whether its a real woman or not is irrelevant. I think there is just way too much shit that points about a relationship... And, If you have been in love before makes it seem even more like it is about love/relationship.


In the end, I really think Eminem should go through and explain more on the songs. Especially the one's he left off his Shade45 Road To Recovery shit.

Re-read my post. Its about a women, period. He has been hurt his whole life (by kim) and this is him giving love a chance even though every fiber in his being tells him this girl wont be different "promise me if i cave in and break and leave myself open i wont be making a mistake." What drug requires you to leave yourself open? You cut your chest open to shoot heroin? Drugs just hit you.

He finally lets go and trusts her again and finds out he was right all along, he shouldnt have trusted her and he is so hurt he cant take it anymore and kills her and himself. The whole song has him explicitly detailing just how enamored and adored he is with her. If you dont get the words and imagery like "we clutch i feel a rush," then you've never felt true, unconditional love; and i feel sorry for you.

And I said the third verse isn't from the perspective of 'drugs' because that wouldn't even make sense. There are far too many lines in this track that make zero sense if it's about drugs, meanwhile all the other side of the fence has is ambulance noises and the assumption that not only has Em never been with anyone beside Kim, but also that it can't be hypothetical.
