Thing is, if this site was around when MMLP was released I bet a load of people here would be saying "Oh MMLP is shit compared to the SSLP!", there's always gonna be people that don't like the new stuff. But I do definitely feel its a lot easier for people to criticise artists' NEW stuff than their old stuff, because each new album is always going to be compared to previous albums, whereas older albums were the ones that set the bars and trends, and had nothing to be compared against.

All said and done, anyone that doesnt like Recovery I just feel bad for, because it must be a huge disappointment for them to have waited so long for the new album only to not like what they hear when it finally came out. As for me, I'm bumping the shit outta Recovery just like I did with the MMLP and TES. So bad times to the people that don't like it, it must suck for you. But its fucking brilliant for the rest of us.

Agree with Dan. Obviously Em got ridiculously high standards to meet from his first three albums but rather just look at Recovery in isolation compared to most commercial rap thats out, not to mention that its easily (imo) his best album since 2002.
