So, do we agree TES > Recovery?

Whilst Recovery is a FUCKING AMAZING album, TES has some solid hip-hop defining songs (e.g. sing for the moment) and is a classic.

Recovery is JUST a little bit below it for me.

You?

I think so yes, just because I have listened to the full album since recovery, and the album is still great. It has a lot more meaningful songs, but in a way songs on recovery are meaningful but just in different ways.

Such as Space Bound, LTWYL, You're Never Over, and 25 to Life

With that said I feel like I contradicted my original statement, fuck it they boith amazing :worship:

Recovery may of had banging beats, some cool lyrics here & there, 2 covers, & a few pop features
but I can't really find the TRUE emotion in Recovery
compare 25 To Life or Going Through Changes to Soldier or Say Goodbye Hollywood
The way I see it....
Eminem was full of emotions when making The Eminem Show
where as Recovery was pretty much fun & games with Em taking the experimental route

damn, that actually makes perfect sense. and the thing with TES is, my all-time fav song is Say Goodbye Hollywood. Sing for the moment, white america, and superman are probably in my top 10, and business, square dance, till I collapse, my dads gone crazy are dope as hell, the d12 song em kills, without me is still a great song and his last GOOD funny single. Plus soldier is nuts and cleaning out my closet is dope tho i dont listen to it often...and hailies song is that one of a kind song em did that amazes me and i love.

They are on an equal plane for me. Recovery gets more plays currently, though.

Eminem couldn't have said it better himself

“If there's not drama and negativity in my life, all my songs will be really wack and boring or something.”

Re: So, do we agree TES > Recovery?

I was thinking the other day. Think if he hadn't went on the drugs after TES. We would have had about 4 more solid years of great music that may have rivaled TES.

I dunno...Just seems like there was such a missed opportunity, such a missed window of great songs.

However, so that this post has something relevant to do with the thread. I'd agree. If you do a song comparison TES just had more 'genuine' emotion in it. Not saying Recovery's isn't genuine- because it is, however I felt as though The Eminem Show was a bit more deep in that aspect.
