theJFKshow wrote:So Bad is NOT lyrical. Wow.

Let me tell you the whole story of Shady's origin
You'll be sorry if you slam my Mercedes door again!

Sha-dy's-or-i-gin/ce-des-door-a-gain = 5 syllables

2nd verse has plenty of multis:

I told you I aint fooling from the gate, this aint the first day of april!
But thank you for staying April, I'ma make you learn
To appreciate me, differentiate me
From these phoney, little fishy and sissy fake G's
Skip over the huggy-bear and all the kissyface, please
Initiate phase three! Missy now service me
Take another shot of Jager, shake it so nervously
Take your time baby, ooh you're the bomb baby!
Ooh you're doing that even better than your mom lady!
I told you I'm Shady, you didn't listen now, did you?
Relax woman, you know that I'm only kidding with you
Got a twisted sense of humour, it's warped, but I didn't hit you
I think you're finally starting to get the picture, I'm..

sis-sy-fake-G's/kis-sy-face-please = 4 syllables

3rd verse as well.

Girl don't be so frantic I'm just a hopeless romantic
Don't try to fight the feeling of something that's organic
You can't ignore it, so don't just stand before it
Just drop them panties to the floor, let's get to camcordin'
Damn shorty, I told you this was bound to happen
Soon as you wrote your number on a napkin I was bound to work a number on your back and
Throw your spine out of alignment
My love has got you so blinded you couldn't pick Amy Winehouse out of a lineup
so stop at a store, pick a pint up
Let's get the pineapple schnapps going, no one'll knock cause I'ma hang a sign up
Saying "Don't Disturb", shorty I'm so superb
I say the right things, don't I spit the dopest words?

spine-out-of-a-lighn-ment/wine-house-out-of-a-line-up = dope as fuck, not even bothering to count

In summary, you need to learn what lyricism is if you're going to speak on it.

i cant believe every one hates so bad, and yet praises cinderella man. imo, almost famous, so bad, and cold wind blows are the best songs on the album, yet cinderella man and wtp are easily the worst. it's crazy to see how much opinions differ.

Yeah. I also liked didn't-hit-ya/get-the-picture

Another five in there... don't-be-so-frantic/hope-less-ro-mantic

The song is like a Relapse song, but without the accent and a catchier chorus (so... even better).

Yep. And I mean, how different is it really from what he was doing ten years ago? Sure, it doesn't have that same wittiness to it, but in the general sense it's classic Eminem. Rhyming multiple syllables every bar while making perfect sense and painting a vivid picture...no one does it like the master.

And I'd agree with your assessment of it sounding like a Relapse-era song (I guess Paul said this is from the Hawaii sessions with Dre where he decided to junk Relapse 2.) This is Relapse-era Eminem without delving into that territory where the accents and "butthole" humor went a bit over the top.

So bad is not a sequel to anything I don't think, just a "girl" track like superman for the album :y:

he's talking about how the game needs him and how only holy wack unlyrical lyrics are being created if he wasn't around.
