Because as you said, his 3 albums can be considered classics in terms of production, but in terms of rapping would you consider them classics? I wouldn't. I do think Kanye is decent rapper but he's nowhere near the guys you mentioned in my opinion, his main problem for me is his breath control which is just awful sometimes

Saying that, he has one of the strongest hip hop discographies of the past 10 years, and for a producer he is a pretty capable rapper

Don't believe me, ask Michael
See Martin, see Malcolm
You see Biggie, see Pac, see success and its outcome
See Jesus, see Judas; see Caesar, see Brutus

He's a very good producer but as a rapper he's nothing special

But, at the end what matters the most is the discography. In terms of rapping he's nothing special but the beats make up for it. And he has greats concepts too.

If anything he's underrated because everyone hates him.

Everyone hates him as a person not as a rapper. He's given respect from most people as a rapper but like Killahbee said, he isn't lyrical enough to have any classics.

So, you don't think he has 1 overall classic?

No, he doesn't have one. I wouldn't even say he has a great album. He has some good albums.

^ IMO I think he has AT LEAST 1 because even though his rapping skills aren't as good as some other rappers, his production is one of the best in the game I think it kinda makes up for his rapping skills.

I mean as I said in my OP College Dropout doesn't have a weak song. I don't know if you think that though

I could care less about production tbh. Production alone can't give you a classic.

Weak production can make a lyrically great album NOT be a classic.

But, let's think about it music-wise and not lyric-wise. I mean isn't that how people judge classics most of the time. If you have dope lyrics but a musically unappealing album what's the point?

If you have dope lyrics then to me it is muscially appealing. If you have dope beats but they are wasted by bad lyrics what's the point?

It goes both ways. Bad lyrics and dope beats is bad (to most people). And dope lyrics and bad beats is bad (to most people).

But, do you think Kanye has BAD lyrics?
