There's no real beef, but i know em doesn't really have respect for snoop. Apparently, both em and dre had felt Snoop was defending Dupri in that beef, so they both had an issue with snoop at that time. Em also said once that snoop hadn't made a good album since Doggystyle (couldn't agree with him more).
There's also a story of Em and Xzibit being at a club or something, and Suge rolled up with numerous guys waving guns and shit and asked X and Em if they were down with Snoop. Apparently, they both started just down talking Snoop, and Suge said they were lucky and whatever like the bitch trying to be hard that he has always been.
Anyway, when asked about it later, Em said that he did what he had to do. He has a daughter, he doesn't want to get caught up in that shit when there are more important things, etc. Then, he said that Snoop would have done the same thing, but for different reasons. He would have stood up for nobody, so why should em stick up for snoop.
So, there ya have it, folks. My insight.
EM always respected Snoop. Dre/EM/Xzibit against J.D. was not beef, but child moselting. It was not hyped up and everybody was laughing hard at J.D. because they killed him a few times, so it's not like Snoop was siding with him. Daz from Dog Pound, who's Snoop's cousin was on J.D.'s label SO SO DEF so him and Snoop were asking Dre and EM to stop dissing J.D. because like I said EM and X were molesing him. And Daz said he's really close to Dre and really wanna mend this friendship between Dre and J.D. because he wanted them to work together. He said Ja Rule is the bitch and EM and X should go at him all the way instead.
Both Snoop and Daz were really close to Dre at the time, and actually that's what made Dre tell Em stop dissing J.D. This thing right here was never an issue.
I don't remember and doubt EM saying Snoop's only good album is Doggystyle, but I do remember him saying Snoop is a legend and giving him praise many times, even in his raps here and there. And Snoop has a lotta great albums, not just one. How could you even say that, Snoop's on the Chronic more than Dre.
I've never heard about the EM and X thing in the club too,Suge was dissing EM the most, Dre and Snoop were on the back seat. That whole thing might be fictional, I can't be sure but I think so.
If any of this happened and EM said that, that's a real beef, which didn't happen. Watch the Up and the Smoke tour DVD and check out the reaction of EM and X when Snoop came on state for 'Still D.R.E.' performance. They both gave mad props.
I never said they weren't cool on 2001, up in smoke, etc. Obviously they were. LEmme break down some sources because i feel as if you're questioning my credibility haha. That one bitch, Jennifer Wilkins or Watsons, Kim's cousin. Ok, so i understand you have to take everything she says with a grain of salt, but she was the one behind the Em feeling Snoop was defending Dupri. I don't remember where i heard about the doggystyle thing, it actually could be false, so dont take me too serious on that one, although if it is as my memory sees it, it was during the pre-up/hiatus years.
The Suge event, was in both JEnnifer Watkins and the bodyguard guy's book. The event happened, the two authors didn't have collaboration in there stories. Just Shady Bizzness tried to use the event as showing Em was only hard in his music, but still said the same shit about Snoop as Cleaning Out My Closet, which said Em was smart about how he handled it. So, the way i see it, if the same event is in two books of two people who knew Em well, even if their motives are different for including it in the book, the event had to have happened.
And Suge at the time wasn't going at Em the most. He was going after the two former death row stars who were now stabbing Suge in the back (and rightfully so), Em was more caught in the crossfie since he was hooked up with Dre.

but I do remember him saying Snoop is a legend and giving him praise many times, even in his raps here and there. And Snoop has a lotta great albums, not just one. How could you even say that, Snoop's on the Chronic more than Dre.
It's snoop dogg not snoop dog.
