Contemporary works may be hailed as an instant classic but the criteria for classic status tends to include the test of time. A cult classic may be well known but is only properly appreciated by a minority.

It's just a comment on the use and misuse of the word "classic".

Recovery, in 2010, is a classic album. TES is definitely a classic, and is way better than Recovery, but both are amazing albums. I wish he'd go back to his hungry "8 Mile style". His TES and 8 Mile days were his peak. Recovery marks him slowly building up to another peak. I have a feeling his next album will be very big. I hope more artists start to collaborate with him though so we can still keep hearing his music. I'm interested to hear what he did with Drake, for some odd reason

Came back to annihilate, the game's in dire straights, as I await
Word on Satan, as I drop, fall to my knees before this Quija board and I pray
Now I lay me down to sleep
I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake

Plus, Jay-Z. I don't like Jay all that much, but Renegade is the shit
