Can somebody explain to me why Cinderella Man is never mentioned as a single? I think thats the catchiest song on the album and everybody I know that has heard the song loves it. Brennan Boesch for the tigers also has the song playing every time he comes up to bat. He used to have Not Afraid as his song so apparently he's a big Em fan

good point. I feel like it's one of those songs thats on the B side of a single tho, because it's popular but not popular as a single, if that makes sense :sweating:

Agreed. I been bumpin that a lot lately.

What they should have done, is released Not Afraid when they did, but made this the "street single" even tho won't back down was made as one. And done a video with this, then this, LTWYL and not afraid would be bumpin and released this video like the week after recovery was released. The hook on this is too good to not release as a single imo

I don't think Cindereally Man is catchy, the hook is too short like almost non--existence, and that beat is not radio-friendly imo, a catchy single requires a strong hook, that's why songs like T2M, SB should do good as singles

Yeah, T2M should be a fantastic single. Simple, yet great lyrics, memorable hook, nice beat.

I know Space Bound is more about the progress of a relationship that is good at first, then the girl rejects him and he wants to kill her, and describes shooting himself in the head in her arms.

Kind of violent for an Em single, and too sad. LTWYL is about serious stuff too, but it is more a dissection of the dynamics of a mutually abusive, distrustful relationship...it doesn't punch you in the gut the way Space Bound does.

So is Space bound too sad and violent a song for radio?

people who listen to radio pretty much don't care for lyric, they only care about catchy music so

Talkin' 2 Myself is a great song. It's not my favorite on the album though. If Em want's another #1 single then he has to release Talkin' 2 Myself. It has that sing song chorus the radio loves.

True dat...I remember when that Third Eye Blind song came out in the late 90's and it was played like crazy, but it was about getting high on meth and the joys of drugged up sex.

And of course Free Falling by Tom Petty, Adams Song, etc. But still the violence at the end of SB will probably be edited like mad.

no love, yes. as for almost famous, as much as i love the song, the odds of it becoming a single are pretty slim.

Yep.

Doing crystal meth will lift you up until you break
It won't stop, I won't come down, I keep stock
With a tick-tock rhythm, a bump for the drop
And then I bumped up, I took the hit that I was given
And I bumped again, and then I bumped again

Pretty Slim? :shifty:

But I don't think it will be either.

I want GTC to be one because a video would be so awesome.

It'd be like When I'm Gone + Mockingbird + Deja Vu into one video.

yea i totally did that on purpose. but nah, it'd be dope if em shoots a video for GTC, just for the fans. however, i don't see it doing well on charts.

lol anyone else think So Bad would do good on the chart? I'm not a fan of it but I do know that hook is really catchy. And he should release a fun/upbeat song as single too so people don't think the album is all emo :D So Bad or W.T.P for final single?
