Why is the MMLP the best album?

I think the MMLP is a great album, however i don't think its better than The Eminem Show, what's the main reasons that make the MMLP his best album? (Don't worry, no hostility, just a friendly question )

Well, it was just so cutting-edge and bold. It propelled Eminem into a huge superstar and caused enormous controversy. It was one of those few albums that changed the game.

I have asked me the same. I've always liked TES better than MMLP, I mean, between the pearls like "Stan", "The Way I Am" and "Kim", we got some pretty avarage songs. Take "Remember me?" or "Who Knew" for example, nothing special.

It introduced the term "stan" into common slang (especially in hip hop communities)

It was raw, angry, and took huge risks (just look at Kim)

Stan...probably the most critically acclaimed song from Em besides Lose Yourself.

TES is great but in a different way - it's more political, more personal (Halie's song, Cleaning Out My Closet), and has more about censorship, music and the youth of America.

I think MMLP wins by a hair because of its rawness and impact on the world. And it had songs like Kill You, Drug Ballad, Criminal, and The Way I Am, all of which used to get me pumped to go out and party, release anger, etc.

So a lot of it has to do with where I was in my life when MMLP came out. That and Stan.

b/c he didnt give a fuck at all about you the critics thought while making it. The raw energy that it exudes and now different it sounded compared to anything out there ever. IMO there is only one week song and that is amityvillie and im sure that verse would have been Royces if they were beefing.

TES is way to commercial and left behind everything that mad MMLP so amazing. It is a close 2nd to me next to SSLP. something about that album to this day just gives me the chills.

MMLP was em at his rawest prime. He got so much criticism from his SSLP so this was his "I dont give a fuck album" there is not a bad song on MMLP, dead serious..

Who Knew is one of Ems top 10 songs ever. Its him at his comedic satirical best.

I think a better title would be "why do most people think MMLP is the best album" cause it's all opinion. I personally prefer The Eminem Show (dont get me wrong i love MMLP all the same) as my favourite album by him though.

Cuz most people bought MMLP , they are defending it.I think it's a classic just like TES,and SSLP,I think only time will tell us about Recovery and Relapse, even though if MMLP came in 2010 everyone would hate it ,celebrity bashing,easy punchlines,just a few songs with storytelling...

I like Recovery, TES, and SSLP more so MMLP is now only my 4th favorite Eminem album
