Stan is a great video where Em's barely in it, can't say the same for LTWYL, the story is messy & forgettable, the scene of Em in the filed not even connected with the rest of the video, the actions for most part not even matched the lyric ..etc

it tends to get boring when videos "match the lyrics" perfectly.. oh well I liked this video a lot. one of his most artistic and definitely better than Not Afraid's.

I think Eminem needs to go back to Philip G Atwell, he's the one who was directing videos around the time of MMLP and TES. He directed Stan, Forgot About Dre and COMC, those are the ones that come to mind.

avg vid fo sure even if em was supposed to be in it for a less time the kisses and fucks could have been less and the video could have been like gc i.e em rappinn and the whole thing goes down behind his back

^ dunno why some of you guys got that impression from, the dude in the video is not famous, people know of him as the dude from Lost. And base on twitter, yahoo, youtube comments no one seems to forgot it's Em's video, that's good enough since he's in like 1/5 of the video

I really, really disagree that this video is glorifying anything. Just because some in the mainstream media are thick and take everything literally and as an endorsement because it doesn't explicitly say "Don't try this at home" doesn't mean that they are right.

In the last verse he chases her, hits her and then they and the house go up in flames! How is that positive imagery? The artists are not responsible for the lack of reading/listening/media comprehension in some quarters. It's not their duty to pander to the lowest common denominator because some people might not get it. Guess what, many people are stupid and don't get what Eminem does in general.

And if someone decides that setting your girlfriend on fire is romantic or that the endless fighting, crying and screaming in the video is romantic, then chances are that they had a few screws loose to begin with.
Erm, sorry for the rant, but I don't believe that Eminem and Rihanna were obligated to make an explicit PSA on domestic violence when the song is an inside perspective on what it is like to be trapped in such a relationship. IMO the video shows this feeling of desperation, co-depence, shame and anger quite well for the most part.
