Friendly Fire

Postby dR3 » Aug 6th, '10, 04:06

I just saw this video and it made me think.

What do you think, who should be blamed? The pilot, the command unit or the government? This is unacceptable for me, and I think it's something that mustn't happen ever again.

I don't think the blame can be placed on the government. Everyone in the situation did something wrong.

I think it can be summed up by when the guy goes "Ahh shit". It was just an accident.

In this one, the pilot fires a missile and before it strikes he says "hope it's enemy".

Any idea what happened to those pilots?

I feel terrible for the guy in the cockpit, he's gonna have to live with that his entire life now and it was all because of bad intel. Also for the friendly who died obviously, but fuck that sucks for all of them.

I didn't watch the video but nobody can be blamed for friendly fire. Unfortunately accidents happen in war, the same apples to things like civilian casualties.

that hurts. as a military member I can understand how the pilot feels. no one is really to blame. it was an unfortunate accident. :'(
