First of all, I think Seduction is one of the stronger tracks on the album. The beat is simple and good. Maybe it's just the way I interpret this track which is why I like it so much. But I feel like in saying "verbal seduction" Eminem is addressing people like us who listen to his music. In other words, he's verbally seducing us. And I feel like his target would be other rappers that stole his listeners while he was gone. Although you may think this track is about a girl I urge you to reconsider if you skip this track while listening or think it isn't good. It's just like 25 to Life. Eminem compares something to a relationship and uses 'she' to do so.
"Theres a 7 disc CD changer in the car and I'm in every single slot and you're not" - Who is he talking to? Other rapper, your CD's aren't in my listeners CD deck.
"I'm not about to sit back and keep rhyming just one syllable" - It sounds like he's addressing another rapper(s). I have a unique style that I've mastered and no one can mimic it. There are also a few other lines where it sounds like he may be taking to another rapper.
"She's on my dick cause I spit better then you" - I am better then you at writing rhymes and more people listen to my shit than yours.
"One minute she loves you the next she don't" - The listener used to listen to you're CD's but my shit is better then yours, I stole your listener/fan"
"Put your ear up the speaker dear while I freak this, world premier seducin' her, loosin up with a little freestyle, that'll wait am i losin ya, am I makin ya look bad well I got news for her homie you're losin her" - Keep your ears close to the radio while I do my thing, come back releasing Not Afraid, quite possibly my most catchy song that every one knows and is up there with Lose Yourself and Real Slim Shady. I'm taking your listeners and exciting everyone for Recovery with Despicable, a sick ass freestyle where I spit it fast as fuck to show the world that the real Slim Shady is back. I just smashed the Drake 'Over' beat and made Drake look bad, came back and took over. I almost feel like he could be talking to Drake here with these lyrics from the song. But that is just my interpretation of the lyrics. Your's could be different.
This song is ill. I don't understand all the hate. Next time you listen to it think about this concept I'm proposing and maybe you will change your mind. Listen for the lyrics where he could possibly be addressing another rapper. Every time he says 'she', replace it with another rapper. Song is dope. Really dont understand all the hate AT ALL.
Same thing goes for You're Never over. Aside from all the crappy singing Marshall rides this beat with perfection in the tribute to his best friend. What more could you ask for? So what if there is like 30 seconds of crappy singing. He destroys this beat with ill lyrics. I've been viewing this forum for 6 years and just recently started posting and I think some of you people aren't hearing things correctly and miss a lot of messages in lyrics. Smoke some damn weed and ponder what he's saying and maybe these songs will stand out to you more so then tracks like 'On Fire' and 'WTP' which to me are nothing more than filler tracks.
