Yeah. This. She makes disco songs and dresses wacky. Nothing about her is in any way risky. Hell, Madonna in her day was incredibly calculated but she actually took chances and got a lot of backlash for it. The Like a Prayer video? Erotica? These things actually turned people off, there were campaigns from religious groups going against her. Gaga has not to date released a song with any deeper meaning and her videos are IMO cheap Madonna copies.

Rihanna is taking more risks than Gaga by releasing stuff like Russian Roulette or participating in Love the Way You Lie. Again, here is a song that is genuinely subversive and caught some heat because it doesn't give people the little feel-good ending or explanations they seem to expect. And Eminem and Rihanna don't need to do anything. It's all in the strength of the material. IMO Gaga's stuff doesn't compare to that in any way, shape or form.

Oh yeah i know, on the final cuts that they shoot so they can claim it's artistic just cause it lasts forever and has some average acting in it. (End of the day, it isn't, it's just an excuse for GaGa to wear stupid costumes and show off her body for sales and adoration.) I was referring to the shortened versions that get broadcast on music TV, since that's, after all, where most of the people i'm talking about see them.
