His voice sounds the same. It's his energy level and effort. Back in the day he never used a backing track. Just spit over the instrumental. Now he turns his mic low and spits over the audio. That's wack. He's not even trying to give a great live show anymore. ANd his movements on stage look unnatural, where as before he looked really natural and authentic. Now he looks like someone is forcing him to perform.

He is being forced to perform. By us... :o

In a way he is. Not me, but a lot of you all.

All of those people going to those home and home shows need to watch how bad Jay out performs him. Jay understands that a Live show shouldn't sound exactly like the CD. Em even goes as far as to say the lil talking sh1t like the sh1t he says before Not Afraid starts. He tries to hard to replicate a studio album. That's just retarded. He shouldn't even attempt to yell like he yelled on Recovery. Switch those songs up for Live performing.

Then some of his songs do not stand the test of Time(Mainly the 1st singles on his albums." On My Name is really held up. Real Slim Shady and W/O Me are even more corny now.

Except, that's your opinion see.

I personally don't notice a massive difference in his voice nowadays compared to 2002. A good example would be 'the warning'. Yes, that song shows you that if he wanted to use the same cadences he used on TES he certainly could. However, he chose to take a fresh approach on Recovery & try something new.

How fuckin' dare he... aye?

If you don't notice a difference in his voice from 2002...I don't really know what to tell you. There's a reason he can't really pull off S4TM live anymore..

I don't see how anything about The Warning sounds like TES.

He was in a good shape during TES era but it can't top his current hotness. imo.

it's pretty close for me :-k But I can't judge fairly since all I have to judge from TES are pics & some old youtube videos wherever with this new era I've been following and see everything he's done

and he only dresses better when it comes to awards :( normally we still see him with that freaking kangol hat EVERYWHERE ><

well, he din't wear that Kangol hat around TES but he wore du-rags and bandannas with hat or beanie over them all the time. lol
He used to change his clothes like three times during an award show. His outfits were mostly baggy and colorful tracksuits made by Shady Ltd. He always wore Nike shoes that had identical colors as his outfit. He never wore jeans or fitted clothes. He had a very specific hip hop style but it was nothing stylish or fashionable like now.

Nostalgia+ Eminem's age/rust= Butt head Eminem fans.

Nothing is as good as the past. Good memories always trump the current.

Bullshit.

If that were the case, we'd all be clamoring for his Encore voice/performances. But every intelligent person admits Eminem sucked while he was on pills and he is infinitely better now than he was from 04-07.

It's not nostalgia. I don't get nostalgic about Eminem.

at least with Relapse he was clearer and louder. since Recovery he whispers behind the recording so you don't really know if you're hearing him or the mp3

SMH.

U realize that the SFTM performance is more backing track and less him? I'm happy he doesn't do that anymore when he performs now.
August 22 2013 - from Berlin to Paris, 400€ spent just for Eminem. IT WAS WORTH EVERY SINGLE CENT!
