I took US sales data for weeks 2 through 9 and fit a basic trend line to it. I excluded week 1 because that number is very inflated. I used that to make a rough estimate of the next few months:

Total sales after 20 weeks (November 6): 2.84 million

I would say this is an underestimate of the actual number... I would think the trend would flatten out a little more by week 18 or so, and events such as the VMAs, the concerts, and future single / video releases will give boosts to the sales. The holidays should also give this album a very large sales boost.

I would think ~ 3.3 to 3.5 million by the end of the year

I don't think "cheat" is a fair word here, Relapse Refill got counted to Relapse sale too (although it didn't even have a proper single like Gaga's 3 smashes for TFM, but still)

Sorry that's not the same case. Refill is a real reedition so people will buy this one instead of the first one because Refill got all the tracks. What gaga is doing is cheating : 2 different albums so people buy the two.

Gaga released both The Fame Monster and the Fame Monster Ep. When people buy the Fame Monster 1 copy gets counted to The Fame and one copy gets counted to The Fame Monster, just like with Refill; it counts 1 to each album included - Relapse and Relapse: Refill.

The only difference is that for Gaga there is a separate Ep with just the 7 new songs so people who already bought The Fame don't have to get it again. For Refill you had to buy Relapse with it, so actually Eminem was kinda cheating if you want to put it that way.
