looked like Katy Perry was about to get a beat down

It looks like she could also be talking to someone behind the west coast wonnabe.

Riri is saying "Oh you fancy" and they both whip their hair. I think it refers to that Drake song Fancy.

well done Kayne

It was staged? Where's your proof?

c'mon now, everything was going according to plan. I actually thought that since last year but this year vmas confirmed it. Both kayne & taylor are benefiting hugely from this fake accident. Kayne "randomly" write an essay apologizing to Taylor 1 year after and right few days before vmas? mtv milking the shit out of that story? both of them writing songs for each other and revise the history again? Kayne closing the show and made a "comeback" right before his album drop?

so yeah, I don't exactly have proof but that's just something we figure out on our own.

But Taylor Swift definitely won the Embarassement Olympics. Singing an overly earnest and dramatic song with bad metaphors about Kanye interrupting her VMA speech?!? Judging by her facial expressions you would have thought she was pleading for world peace, trying to cure cancer and feed the world all at once. I know this is her usual shtick, but come on! And all that with bare feet to show what a poetic little fairy she is. :facepalm2

And that wasn't staged last year. Kanye was drunk as fuck. The repercussions for his career were too severe as well. Willingly cancelling a huge tour with Lady Gaga because of a publicity stunt? Nah.

Em performed his songs. I don't see the great disappointment? Well, Rihanna's tutu looked ridiculous, but that's how she rolls and he knew who he was dealing with when he asked her to get on the song.

Yes, they're known to stage a lot of shit (like Eminem/Bruno).

But he nearly cried on Jay Leno, IIRC.

1. He can't be that good an actor.
2. He wouldn't fake acting sad about his dead mother when he was asked the question just so he can sell a few more records. I hate Kanye, but I know he loved his mother dearly and pulled away from the spotlight when she died. He wouldn't insult her memory like that.

I refused to believe all those things happened are just coincidence
I think after last year they (MTV, Taylor, Kayne) never thought the accident would blow up like that, they probably thought it could be like the bruno/em thing where they can simply say "it's a joke" when show's over but turned out almost everyone, even big artists got angry about it so they kinda have to go along till the end and wait till this year to help Kayne made a comeback. so yeah, kayne was probably sad for real last year

Biggest facepalm in history?

I mostly hate MTV even more after this. But I guess that's the sort of fake bullshit drama you have to resort to when your channel and your award shows are not about music or music videos anymore. OTOH Kanye and Taylor should have just said no.

Rihanna seemed to be a little nervous in the beginning but managed to control her nerves as the show got on. Other than that he should really consider having someone to sing his NA-chorus, it really shows how limited his singing is when he always has to shout through it.

All in all, this was a nice performance though. I just had to bitch about something ;)

Um... so you're saying MTV, Kanye and Taylor Swift have kept it a secret for a year (and counting)?

When are they going to reveal their elaborate prank to us, then?

Kanye has endured hate and disappointment from all quarters (his fans, the general public, his family, his friends, other rappers Jay-Z, Eminem, Drake etc.), his reputation irreparably damaged... all for a few more record sales? 808s & Heartbreak won Grammys and was critically acclaimed. Why did he need more publicity?

Or are you saying this was a career move, to stay relevant? Do something bad and evil, and come back and redeem himself, to extend his career a few years? Putting on a few crocodile tears about his dead mother along the way.

It was real.

don't know what you got from my post, maybe I wasn't clear but anyway, my point is that before the accident last year, they probably planned it for entertaining & rating purpose (just like the bruno/em thing), they had no idea things would blow up to a serious level like that after the accident, I believe that the accident itself was fake, but the overwhelming reactions from ppl after that put Kayne in a different position

they're just whiny bitches, probably hoping Slim Shady would suddenly appear and swept them off their feet with some kind of magical performance or something :coffee: I don't even wanna talk about it anymore, tired of the "fans" always try their best to find every single little thing that wrong with him nowadays

Like that member Alaine who was crying for about 6 months over the way Eminem pronounced his words on Relapse?

Yeah true.

^ FYI, I rarely give reviews or talk about relapse, let alone "crying" about it. Actually I joined this forum way after it got released so when I came here ppl already done talking about it for most part.
I don't hide the fact that I don't like it though.

I wasn't being serious.

But people can moan about this perfomance in the same way you moan about Relapse or I moan about Encore. It's the way it goes.

I wasn't really mad that some people don't like it, it's like normal around here. I just find it ridiculous how people who don't like the songs/expected it to suck still watch it just so they can moan about it later.
