It kinda sucks because Relapse is so much better than Recovery, but + is obviously much more mainstream so I guess its natural that Relapse got swept under the rug. I don't even care that much about exactly when he metaphorically came back, I'm just glad he's back. I expect a new album next year.

Ok I'll remember that when that next Beyonce or ....hmmm...ah Britney Spears CD comes out. :D I get what you mean though, but that doesn't deny the fact that the word "comeback" is used inflationary these days.
August 22 2013 - from Berlin to Paris, 400€ spent just for Eminem. IT WAS WORTH EVERY SINGLE CENT!

They claim that I'm violent, just cause I refuse to be silent
These hypocrites are havin fits, cause I'm not buyin it
Defyin it, envious because I will rebel against
any oppressor, and this is known as self defense
I show no mercy, they claim that I'm the lunatic
But when the shit gets thick, I'm the one you go and get
Don't look confused, the truth is so plain to see
Cause I'm the nigga that you sell-outs are ashamed to be

I agree that Relapse is better than Recovery. Maybe not by that much but it is certainly a much more interesting album. It's sad that for an album to count as "relevant" it has to sell like fuck and appeal to a brain-dead crowd that doesn't understand or want to understand great music because it's not "relatable" or whatever.

I love Relapse but the reason Recovery is better isnt cuz its relateable. It's cuz Relapse even though it has very high points (SWA, Deja Vu) its low points are very LOW (WMY, CAB, OLS). And the rest of the songs are around average. BUT the low points of Rx just drag it down too much.

my two cents.

Certainly a valid opinion! I disagree though.. I used to think Relapse had higher peaks but lower lows.. but the more I've listened to Recovery I've started to think not even the latter is true, or at least not by a lot.

We Made You, Crack A Bottle, yes they are certainly not the most brilliant moments of his career. :) But there is nothing wrong with Old Time's Sake. A solid enough track.

Oh well this doesn't matter. My "beef" is with the people who dis Relapse because of the subject matter and because they "can't stand the accents" - I mean, while this is certainly a matter of preference, it should at the same time be possible to try and judge Relapse for what it is. Maybe I don't like classical music but I still wouldn't put Mozart in the trash. Ok, that didn't make sense. Whatever :coffee:

I just hate We Made You and Crack A Bottle so much that it makes me wanna take shit on the album
as a whole. lmao but nevertheless I love Relapse and Im accostumed to the accents so I definitely appreciate Relapse so don't worry about that :y:

Old Time's Sake is an annoying song but I guess thats just my opinion.

In conclusion I love Relapse but I love Recovery a little more. Maybe it's songs like cinderella man and seduction to me that give Recovery the edge. But then again SWA and Deja Vu are masterpieces lol

Relapse sold big first week, but it didn't have much longevity at all, the public's reactions were mostly mixed/negative and there's nothing memorable about it ('m talking about successful singles & stuff like that) And most important thing is, Eminem himself trashed Relapse so ppl figured out that he don't want Relapse to be remembered as his "comeback" album so they just ignored it.

I still think of that as a bitch move by Em.

Imo Relapse + bonus songs, the best songs from all that are just way better than the best Recovery songs.. But I agree, if we made you wasn't on it and crack the bottle had a hook that wasn't gay I might even place it at #2 behind TES. Those really bring it down. I'm just a sucker for the dark songs, I can listen to the crazy lyrics and rhyming of Buffalo Bill 10x more than Going Through Changes or whatever.
