Oh yeah, Eminem played this show, too! The Star Wars-style type that introduced him touted a return-- a Recovery, even-- after years in the pill-popping wilderness. Admittedly, his record sales have roared back this year. But the set found Em stuck between two equally unflattering poses: scrunched-brow post-addict and woefully outdated clown. His rapid-fire delivery was often lost in the vast venue, when his voice wasn't cutting in and out of the mix. He brought out Dr. Dre, who looks to be spending a lot of time working out nowadays, and D12, who were happy to be there. The highlight of Em's portion had little to do with Em-- onetime local hero 50 Cent did a mini greatest-hits set in glow-in-the-dark garb, and had a tremendous amount of fun with his spotlight. Later on, Em came out during Jay-Z's set for their Blueprint duet "Renegade". As he walked off, you could see him mouth a gracious "thank you" to Jay. He looked small.
