Well, it's probably just BS rumours. But this sounds interesting IMO. The director is good, the other cast is good (Anthony Hopkins!). It's based on a Schnitzler novel, he was a quite decent writer as well.

That argument about him playing himself is retarded.

Firstly it was a version of him, secondly - he's still saying lines which are not spontaneously from his own brain and which require thought and craft to put across realistically.

It may be more difficult to play say... A lawyer or something very unfamiliar to you but you're still acting. And you still have to believable, bottom-line. He's a very natural and believable actor, doesn't matter that he's playing a version of himself lmao.

Gervais is playing a slightly deluded version of himself in The Office but the acting is still absolutely superb. Because of the nuance, attention to detail, realism and general believability.

If he decides to this film, that is huge because it's from the very very talented director of City of God, The Constant Gardener, and Blindness.

Also, I think the Justin Timberlake comparison is due to the fact that Timberlake is gathering a lot of critical praise for his performance in The Social Network.

Oh yeah I know lol I personally hate when artists leak over onto the acting scene - most of them are shit. Unless they can actually perform well and ACT, then by all means go ahead, but the two businesses almost go hand-in-hand now.

I remember back as a kid whenever an artist would appear in a movie, it'd be like Now it's like only because people (me) are thinking, "again?".

I think Justin's serious about acting, he hasn't put out a solo album since 2006, only some guest spots here and there, in all these years he's been focused on doing lots of movies to find experiences and noe he finally gets some praise
