I agree. I think the problem w/ Satire's is there's too much going on. He makes good sigs, but they're usually very 'busy' and for a header, I think simpler is better.

There are some letter combinations that result in a lot of dead space. Like the period could be kerned in so that it is more under the Y, and also the Y could hang over the D a little bit.

This is an example from Recovery, you can see how the Y is kerned. It's really used to keep the typeface balanced. Setting kerning to optical in the character pallet is usually fine, or you can adjust each one individually too.
