I think I've already said this, when the video came out...this actually might be one of the worst songs ever. I mean that, no exaggerations.

"Cause once you go black you never go back,
And when she go wayne everybody else is whack"

His delivery here...okay, my ears PHYSICLY hurt im listenin to it. Im serious.

classthe_king wrote:How would I sum it up  Why the fuck would you want to sum up a verse. It's meant to be heard in its entirety. I couldn't understand a couple parts so some of it is off but all of that makes sense. If you can sum up a lyrical verse in a sentence or two then it wasn't very good

Very poor cop-out.

At least tell me what the fuck its about. You don't even know do you?

What the fuck is this clown waffling on about? Or were you just distracted by the "vocab". ANYONE can be pretentious, son. He isn't saying anything. He isn't saying anything worthwhile.

(AKA Pretentious Bullshit)

Very true.

This is what Eminem realized very early on. After the failure of Infinite in fact.

This is when he stopped rhyming for its own sake and started making art. Those underground rappers who rap like that, are... the least impressive lyricists in the game in some respects.

I can write bullshit like that too. Where as, I cannot write something like "Rock Bottom" or "Role Model". There needs to be a true agenda, character, a full range of emotions and intellect and an artistic aim. Without those things, it's just endless / aimless babbling.

Properly decent hip-hop is a marriage of the right elements. I absolutely care, first and foremost about lyricism but people who get impressed purely by vocabulary are very narrow-minded and I don't think very artistically inclined. It's not deep to be so clinically literal and endlessly expansive for its own sake, it's just direction-less rambling.

You need a meeting of aspects; lyrics, production, subject matter, delivery, style and intent. Even Eminem's weaker songs, when he's lyrically in the mud shit on 90% of those guy's content purely due to the amount of character, personality and noteworthy baggage he brings to the table with almost every line. Where as, you take those underground rappers - You could interchange half their verses with each other and it would scarcely make a difference. There's no true identity, they're robots.

I can pick out at least 15 tracks out of every 25 by the underground cats I listen to that would not be rhyming just for the sake of rhyming. EVERY rapper has "show-off/boasting" tracks.

I'd pay to see that.
