How do you define a cultural impact? If No Love gets more views on Youtube than lots of other mainstream music videos get in years, that's not a sign of a cultural impact in 2010? If nothing else, it shows the potential. Of course the potential has certain limits on iTunes since it's the third single from a very successful CD (MMLP wasn't successful as Recovery in UK so Stan with a British singer on the hook had more potential to use there, unlike USA where MMLP was huge).

When it comes to radio, especially the Top 40 format, its in the hands of fans too. how many times you personally requested that song either via mediabase online request sheets, twitter or request line? I love how some fans complain that Top 40 ignores his song, yet he had more than a decent airplay on Top 40 just few months ago. Why? Because Rihanna's fans realized how these things work.

Radio is a business. They try to play what people want them to. If you don't tell them it means you're not interested. Everyday these stations get flooded with requests made by the fans of the artists that have a fragment of Eminem's popularity. Instead of complaining these fans create the real demand. Judging from the records sales and youtube views Eminem is the A-lister of the A-listers who's potential is big enough to top most of the artists. Unlike visiting youtube or purchasing a CD, this requires more interactivity from his fans.

Now it's time for the fans to either support the song on Top 40 or just complain.

"cultural impact" to me means something that got everyone's interested & got discussed from every views, something that really "iconic" and will be remembered as years to come, more than 10 years later Stan still stands strong as an iconic, a signature Eminem song just like when it was released, do you honestly see that about No Love? I love the song but it doesn't scream "timeless classic" to me

I don't complain btw, it's not like I was expecting a smash out of this or something.

It actually was not. The song leaked when the rest of the album leaked. It didnt take off till after the album was released.

Also, it shouldnt surprise anybody that this won't be as big of hit as LTWYL. Heck i think No Love was a bad choice for a third single. It should have been Talkin 2' Myself. You say it shouldnt have been cause it's depressing and it's too similar to Not Afraid but the thing is....The sing-song chorus of talkin' 2 myself is what radio loves. Just Blaze going "Nooo loveeeee, Nooo loveeeeeee" doesnt qualify.

Honestly "No Love" isnt more upbeat then "Talkin' 2 Myself". I don't get some people thinking "No Love" is an upbeat song. It's really not. "No Love" should have just been released as a Street Single. But i think Eminem and his handlers backed themselves in a corner. They determined long before the album came out that "No Love" would be a single. It's obvious it was planned to be the 2nd Single but LTWYL blew up so they decided to have that be the second single. With the video mostly filmed they backed themselves into a corner imo that it had to be a single.

I love the song. Don't get me wrong. Em's verse is off the chain. His flow is fire. It's just not a song that will blow up on radio.

If i had to guess, this will only be a single for about a month and then they will put out something else as a single. imo.

actually I did remember LTWYL already got great radio update before the album was released

and I never said T2M was depressing cuz it's obviously not, but I honestly don't see it doing better than No Love, I have the same feel when I listen to those 2 songs, the more urban/hip-hop feel, I actually called No Love won't take off on pop radio since long ago. The only song imo can be big on pop radio from recovery is Space Bound cuz the girls love it.

Even if it isnt high on Hot 100 and i tunes. It has a impac on Recovery Sales.

And it is isnt high because it is the third single , Everybody has bought the album.

Imagine if it was realesed first single. It surely was gonna hit no 1

I beg to differ. "Drop The World" was a better single and it didn't break the Top10. Doubt "No Love" would have. It's okay though; "No Love" wasn't released to be successful but to break the monotony of his singles.

You're right third singles always gonna sell bad because everybody already bought the album.
