I wasn't even into grunge but I really liked Nirvana. I remember the video for Teen Spirit was getting heavy rotation at the time.

Kinda suffer from the Tupac syndrom. Great enough band, but overrated to a godlike status because of Kurt's death.

I disagree, before Kurt cobain's death nirvana was the biggest band in the world.

Nirvana were great, Nevermind is my favourite Nirvana album and that MTV Unplugged thing live in New York was amazing, sad, but amazing. Kurt Cobain arranged the stage set up for that show to be like his funeral.
