That was a decent attempt at an excuse (coupled with a poor use of commas). I would have went with the, "I'm too lazy to proofread" line, myself. I give you kudos for being creative, though. I'm under the impression you're not being entirely honest. Tsk, Tsk.

I then attempted to see past such trivial nuances and continued reading for another two paragraphs.
