Eminem's Recovery this week becomes the first rap album in seven years to spend its first 16 weeks in the top 10. The last rap album to spend its first 16 weeks in the top 10 was 50 Cent's 2003 smash Get Rich Or Die Tryin' (which spent its first 24 weeks in the winners circle). Em tops Lil Wayne's 2008 smash Tha Carter III, which spent its first 15 weeks in the top 10.

Recovery, which rebounds from #5 to #4 on this week's chart, will doubtless continue to add to its tally of weeks in the top 10. It will probably get a boost from Anderson Cooper's 60 Minutes profile of the rap icon, which aired on Sunday. It will get a further boost on Dec. 1 when the Grammy nominations are announced. Recovery is likely to be in the running for Album of the Year. "Love The Way You Lie," Em's smash collabo with Rihanna, is a likely candidate for Record and Song of the Year.

Hopefully Em performs at the AMA's and actually turns up for once, and undoubtedly he will perform at the Grammy's so i can see him being in the top 10 pretty much for the rest of the year lol. Wouldn"t surprise me.

Recovery will stay in the top 10 for another 4-5 weeks but i dont know about the whole year,cause there are heaps of albums comming out in late november and december that will have debut sales higher than Recovery's,now its got 16 weeks so it will make 20 for sure ...damn,Eminem is gonna win his 5th grammy award for Rap Album Of The Year for sure ...hope he wins the album of the year award cause he never acomplished that and its the most prestigious award!!!!

Yep, Greatest Hits albums tend to do that. People will be more likely to by Curtain Call who are just getting into Em rather than buying the SSLP, MMLP, TES, or the 8 Mile Soundtrack.
