it's easy to see what he's doing. he's trying to get any advantage on kanye and nicki minaj. he know his album is going to leak, and he wants the extra buzz to stay until the very day it gets released with the itunes track to further increase his sales. it's a smart move.

if anything it's a massive sign of respect allowing eminem to be single handily the person who still holds and raises his buzz until the very day it gets released, so people don't just focus on leaks and physical copies.

EM gave his verse after he's heard Banks album in Detroit before the Home & Home at Comerica. The album was already done by that time and out of Banks' hands, it's obvious why it's an iTune bonus track, isn't it?
