Before Relapse, when Em was still on his hiatus, he was talking about how bad rap is today, how its full of wack rappers who are getting hits from tracks with just a good beat and catchy hook and no lyrical substance. he talks about it in a few interviews, and in his book The Way I Am.

now, when I first hear him talkin like that my first thought; "He's gonna go at lil wayne. no doubt about it".
but then he comes out talkin about how he thinks hes dope. and drake too. It just doesn't sound right.
