Political Eminem

Postby S.T.A.N. » Nov 4th, '10, 16:40

Eminem was never a political kind of guy , so why did get so political all of a sudden in Encore?
He was pointing out what Bush had done wrong and what not, but he didnt say what we should do other than carrying arms for self defense. Seems like someone or some other people might have pushed him to do it. What do you guys think?

Encore didn't have a spesific theme, so I guess he just had to rap about something. Believe me, he will have the same problem for his next album.
Norway, blah, blah, murder, blah, blah, blood.

He was more political on the Eminem Show overall than he was on Encore, if you think about it he wasn't very political on Encore, just certain songs, Mosh obviously, and he had previously mentioned his displeasure with presidents (clinton), so it wasn't anything too new

Its more what you consider "politics." If you consider Bush bashian politics than yes, encore is more political. If you consider the way families hate Eminem yet kids buy them politics then Eminem show...Eminem show had more in my opinion....he's bashed political figures throughout his career though

He always has a concept for his albums.

So what's Encore's concept? Starts out with half-serious Evil Deeds, then proceeds to tell how he's best in Never Enough. Back to seriousnes in Yellow Brick Road and Like Toy Soldiers, before he takes a political turn in Mosh. Suddenly we get Puke in our faces, and from then it's only gibberish with My First Single, Rain Man and such. The rest in a mix of love, family and D12, before ending it with Encore, where he promis us Detox. That's about it.

Yeah the man's back
With a plan to ambush this Bush administration,
Mush the Senate's face in and push this generation,
Of kids to stand and fight for the right to say something you might not like

All this terror America demands action,
Next thing you know you've got Uncle Sam's ass askin'
To join the army or what you'll do for there Navy.
You just a baby,
Gettin' recruited at eighteen,
You're on a plane now,
Eating their food and their baked beans.
I'm 28,
They gonna take you 'fore they take me

To mention a few...
