I actually think it fit perfectly here. He just needs to know when to use it (and use it rarely, that way it's more powerful when he does).

I think it definitely fits with the content, but you can tell all the yelling is taking its toll on his voice. He just needs to be more varied and particular with when to use it.

em has a natural voice change on all his albums. i do think his shouty husky one is his real voice. weird that every album he has sounded different.

Not sure...maybe the content and verse he wrote genuinely stirs his emotions and gets him that angry or maybe he thinks it sounds more genuine and better...don't know. Let's ask him lol.

He's getting ready to lead a heavy metal band.

Trust me, if metal singers can handle it, Em can handle it.

I don't think Em is yelling at all recently. I hear the same Em as i have always heard. Nothing different. People who claim he is shouting or screaming i don't understand. Maybe it's because i listen to a lot of rock with a lot of screaming.

I think that his voice really works here. He sounds totally deranged. It starts so softly and then goes crazy. I like the way the lyrics in his verse have this desperation and extreme emotion. And again with the denial and the excuses: They're psychopaths, but that's because they have so much passion for each other, yeah, every fight ends in total destruction, but perhaps it wasn't so bad, he doesn't need a shrink etc. His shouting works in contrast with her soft, slow, resigned singing as well.

It's not as carefully done as in the original, but I like that it's about two people kind of getting that their relationship is toxic waste but thinking it has to be this way and being emotionally bound to each other. Like in Rihanna's part where she sings that she is addicted to the drama and doesn't want to leave even though she knows she should. And again the fire theme at the end of her part and his part. It's a respectable effort IMO. Not really necessary, but since Rihanna/Rihanna's people insisted on doing it I'm glad that it isn't the mess I feared it would be and doesn't taint the original.
