I understand all of this, but I don't think Almost Famous should be last. Seeing as how I don't like the song as much as everyone else on here (it's good, but just not for me) I'd rather have Recovery end how it did. Untitled was a great closer in my opinion, it's much in the same vein as Cold Wind Blows (though not as good), which is why having those two tracks where they're at makes much more sense to me

But Recovery was kinda all over the place, huh? Unlike Relapse, as someone had mentioned earlier, which plays out like a movie. Em needs to "Kid Cudi" this shit, have a theme about what's actually going on in his head. And go back to producing HIMSELF (with Dre and maybe Just Blaze and Dj Khalil) so he could STICK to this theme. I think that album would end up being his greatest, or pretty close to it

while i agree ordering maybe could have been better, it's all prefernece in the end, and the fact the content doesn't change, doesn't change the album in the grand scheme of things to me. that being a dope fuckin record

I think it kinda does change the quality of the product if you change how it's presented.

If you changed the sequencing of verses of an Eminem song, it wouldn't be as good.

Imagine Stan starting with "Dear Stan, I meant to write you sooner but I just been busy."

But in the digital era, nobody listens to the album in correct order anyway... just individual songs.

True and an album I think needs to progress like a story in some respects to.

Not necessarily with a clear narrative but at least some basis of... build-up of intensity etc.

I think his first three all pretty much nailed that. Recovery is by far his most inconsistent in that aspect I think, although he said it would be. I definitely don't think he should aim for just a collection of songs next time though, his stuff is too intense, needs an arc.

The whole argument thing is pathetic, why anyone feels the need to justify who they are, what they do, where they come from to form an opinion about music (which is an art-form just like any other) is far beyond my understanding.

EminemBase brought up an interesting topic as far as I'm concerned, the way you order an album / CD etc. can have a drastic effect on the listeners opinion.

When Recovery first leaked and I sat down and listened start to finish for the first time the first thing I noticed is how...sporadic, the sound was.
