Damn shame that B.o.B didn't do better than Drake.

Better artist, better album.

Yeah, I know right. No one would give a shit about Drake if he wasn't closely associated with Lil Wayne :facepalm :shakehead:

Absolutely.

B.o.B is 100 times the artist Drake is. In fact I resent even having to call Drake an artist Although, having that title doesn't necessarily imply you're a quality artist.

B.o.B is talented in every department. Vocally, lyrically, conceptually and musically. He's so naturally inclined to ideas and melody and has the most potential to propel and evolve the genre (and music in general) into something euphoric, of anybody I've seen since Em.

Where as Drake just croons shitty B-side RnB choruses over tacky beats with corny punchlines. He's not musical or lyrical, he's just annoying.

B.O.B. is garbage. That album is garbage. Kanye's album craps on every rap album put out this year besides Recovery. Lloyd Banks album should be dope.

:facepalm

"Ghost in the Machine" > Anything Lloyd Banks has ever or will ever put out.

Fucking Lloyd Banks lmao. You have the fucking audacity to call B.o.B garbage then get excited over the bullshit Lloyd Banks is putting out. "Make money / make money", "Beamer / Benz or Bentley" - Yeah, wow, genius.

In comparison to...

They say I'm out of sight / How ironic that we're all so blind...

B.o.B is a real lyricist and a real musician. He shits on 90% of the mainstream artists that have emerged in the past half a decade. He's a multi-instrumentalist, he's incredibly versatile and has already crafted a plethora of classic tracks.

He constructs proper music from the ground up. He puts his mind and soul into it, he effortlessly blends genres, he's experimental and entertaining. He also puts his personality into the mic, with more character than the entirety of G-Unit combined x100, with plenty to spare.

As opposed to slapping together toy rap songs over toy beats made by bedroom boffins.

You probably just have heard "Nothing on You", have drawn a perception of him as a 'pop rapper' and dismissed him from there. Garbage? :facepalm2

Drake's rhymes are so incredibly boring it's not even funny. Lyrically he is decent but I can't be bothered to study his songs in depth when his rhyming is so pathetic.

Rebirth was released around same time he went to jail and it has sold 712k this year
I Am not a human being was released September 27th and it has sold 411k so far.

combine those two numbers and you will get over a million. :y:

I was thinking the same damn thing, IMO B.o.B album was a breath of fresh air into hiphop, and something that it needed.

I know! His music is just...new, I don't see what people don't like about it (or at least not enough to buy the album?). Fuck, he's always on the radio too...the guy performed for Obama. He deserves more than barely over 400, 000. :n:

Despite his popularity, I just don't think he has many of his own 'stans' to buy his albums yet, especially in this day in age. Hopefully his new mixtape brings more buzz back to him and he'll drop another album too.

Probably because he's an acquired taste.

He's unique, he takes getting used to, he has his own sounds and ideas.

Just like... Ricky Gervais was an acquired taste to comedy. He's one of the biggest names in comedy now for the last 5 years World Wide but, The Office (despite being a masterpiece) didn't have that impact. And Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs didn't have that impact either. They're slow-burns to a lot, they're totally unique and wonderful. So... I think B.o.B's next album will be the one.

Where as everything about Drake panders to please. His easy to consume punchlines, his simple image and lack of character, his looks, his subject matter. 70% of his sales probably came from women, they're obsessed with him. He's annoying as fuck though.
