He is trying to show everyone that he can do what Lil Wayne does, but do it better.

Remember that interview where he said that, back when he was at his low point with drugs, he heard Wayne and thought Wayne did some clever stuff, but that he said to himself "I can do that too."

So it's just Em's reaction to all the attention Wayne was getting.

I'd have to agree with Jekil. He changed his style constantly since Encore.Careful what you wish for....I bet back in 2002 there were a lot of people that didn't liked his style too lol. We'll just have to wait and see what he does next.I dont mind the accents on Relapse, nor the punchlines from Recovery. The only thing that bothers me a bit is the yelling and the forced emotions, but i can live with that :flower:

@Menzo - Thanks dude, I'm trying to post more these days ever since I got a new computer and don't have to use someone else's lol

But yeah, back on topic. I don't want people to get the wrong idea about this thread. I didn't mean it to sound like I'm bitching about this, I'm really not. I don't have a huge problem with these punchlines, such as the "tough titty, dumb blonde white broad" line in Roman's Revenge. Some of them are not so great, but some of them are, to me. It all depends on what type of hip hop you like, if you listen to Lil Wayne and think his punchlines are "dope", then Eminem must be God in your world lmao. If you like lyrics or story telling, you'll like Eminem's older catalogue (include Relapse, exclude Encore and Recovery, actually), Immortal Technique, etc. Me, personally, I've liked almost everything Em's ever put out, I like his music a lot

So really, all I'm trying to say is WHY he must be doing them. I, myself, am not bitching about them. But I see bitching all over this forum about it. So, I thought deeply about it last night then got on this morning and made this thread

Or maybe because he's always had crazy punchlines stored up and he wanted to let some go. Keep in mind that Em came up as a battle MC, it's in his blood.

This is true, battling IS what started hip hop, anyway. 'Till I Collapse is some CRAZY battling skills

No chance! Not when he was King Mathers :-k[/quote]

There are still people outhere that like only a handfull of songs from each album and people who think Recovery is a classic. So you can't really argue opinions :)

Well I wish Em could drop a line that would make say "ohhh!" or laugh like he did in 8 Mile (scripted, yes) and the Rap Olympics / battles he was in when he was younger.
Whole first verse of CWB.

Maybe he's listening to the fans?, kinda like the accent thing.

no, they should stop LOOKING for things to complain about, enjoy the fact that he's not keeping the same style on every fucking album, cuz i don't think putting out Slim Shady LP 6 times in a row would have worked, same with Marshal mathers Lp, or the Eminem Show, The accents are cool, encore was classic because it was something different, what other rappers do you know that would do shit like that on their albums? NONE, other than lil wayne, buit he speaks jibberish in half his songs so FUCK him.

Let eminem do his thing, i know when i'm writing a track i'm not thinkin about what YOU or anybody else wants to hear, i'm thinkin what i would like to say or do, it should be about being yourself and not some industry made BITCH...like lady gaga

Yeah, some of those songs are vomit inducing...and not cuz of the sounds, just because of the quality. Big Weenie had a dope beat though  He should do another song over that beat, kind of like a forgiving act lol

Lmao I don't know about that. That beat is atrocious :zipped:

But, at least he can't possibly make a worse song this time around.
