No. Eminem's REAL fans loved his old work.
are you trying to say that if someone didn't like his old work but like his new ones then they're qualified as "fake fans"?

I was actually listening to "Never enough", "No apologies", "Public Enemy #1", "Ricky Tic Toc" etc.....I appreciate those songs now more so than ever. "25 to life" is almost unlistenable to me now. Just being honest? What the fuck's happening Em? The sad thing is I KNOW he's able to rap....normally as it were...remember that Eminem, Royce & Denaun Westwood freestyle? Yeah. THAT'S the rapper we all want.
25 To Life will NEVER be unlistenable. The shouting on that song was executed wonderfully, it was proper for the song. Plus, lyrically 25 To Life is

uhhum, it's not that great. far from it to be honest.

Alaine wrote:^ there's no such thing as the "real" Eminem, it's all him, 10 years ago or today, who are you to say what makes the real him?
I guess as a fan who grew up with him since the slim shady years, it's hard for some people to deal with his changes. But to me who just become fan for a year and had a chance to look at his career from top to bottom, I see the changes in him progress very normal & natural.
btw, if someone become his fans because he's popular & everyone loves him then that's fake fan, but if they like him because of his materials how could they be fake? What sounds good to your ears may not sound good to others and the opposite. I myself think he was godly in his first two albums and right now he is not as good as in 99-00 but I don't find it blasphemy if some people say Recovery, TES or Encore is his best album & they're fake fans for saying that, it's what their ears tell them and they're just honest about their opinions.

That's such an ignorant statement
I love pretty much all his work except Encore. So I'm a fake fan for liking Recovery more than SSLP (I personally do. SSLP is good, but his voice on there was not for me)? Get the fuck out of here. People will like what they like, it's what their ears tell them. My ears tell me that TES is a better album, as a whole (IMO) than MMLP, but MMLP has better lyrics and emotion
Even if someone says Encore is their favorite album, it's not right to dismiss their opinion because they like Encore better than his first three albums. Fuck that

If Eminem had never gone into a pill-induced coma, do you think he ever would've made any of the music he's made the last 8 years...during OR after the pill popping?
There's your answer right there. There's a reason for the expression, "this is your brain...this is your brain on drugs."
There's nothing "normal and natural" about his career progression.

Also keep in mind its never the exact same for everyone either.
The answer is simple. You can't. You can only go by what you've read about or heard about from someone, usually a third party. How do you know they're right? You can always take someones word for it, and they might give you a very accurate description, but that still does no justice. Thats all it is, is a description. Then its up to your imagination to try and piece together what you know to form a conclusion.
How many times has someone described or told you about something, and you had something pictured in your mind, on how you it would look. But then when you got there, or saw it for the first time it was NOTHING like what you pictured? Too many to count? Just about 100% of time?
Well thats EXACTLY what it is like for drugs/pills, and any other substance. You people are coming up with all these loony explanations and excuses for what and why he did what he did, and I'd bet 98% of you have never even seen a pill other than tylenol. I'd bet something like 60% of you have never even smoked pot.

I'm not basing it on what I think, I'm basing it on what Eminem has said.
Quotes like, "I lost 5 years of my life to Ambien" and "My brain was clouded...everything about me was just...slow" are pretty telling.
Blah blah blah.
Eminem was popping pills to the point of being 2 hours away from dying and he says they completely fucked up his life and his music. What more needs to be said? Is he LYING about that?
Occasionally. Not anywhere near "100% of the time." When someone tells you about what something was like for THEM, they're probably telling you a pretty good description.
Eminem says you're wrong. That's pretty much the end of this discussion.
And his music doesn't lie. People who don't have their heads so far up their ass they don't know which way is up were aware there was something SERIOUSLY wrong with him after hearing Encore for the very first time.
I'm not basing it on what I think, I'm basing it on what Eminem has said.
