They are technically the ones putting it in place but it's the record companies.
And I'm pretty sure UMG would just block the audio like they do with everything else. Not swap it lmao. So I think this guy is trying to get more success to his account by piggy-backing off this leak-heavy few days, so it's more believable.
He probably just upped something random and swapped the audio himself.
Youtube does do the actual swapping and muting. I know they sometimes automatically swap your audio when you upload it if they have it registered (I don't know how they know this< or how they would have these leaked ssongs registered unless they were for an album but didn't make the cut), it happened to me when i used a 50 Cent song as the background to one of my videos. The 70's music didn't have the same effect haha
I know YouTube are the ones who do it, like I said - technically. What I meant / still mean is that they aren't the source of it. They do it at the request of copyright holders and they also have technology in place that detects recorded soundwaves and auto blocks recognized tracks.
Which is why I this unlikely. I've never seen them swap audio on a copyright track before. Only block it. But those lyrics look real so maybe it is true.
