an average eminem fan gets called a stan by people who dont listen to his music

a lot of other fandoms also overly use the word stan to address other artists' fans.. though some of them don't acknowledge (or maybe they are ignorant to the fact) that 'stan' was created by Eminem. I saw someone who explained it being Stalker + Fan and they believe that's where Stan came from. i wonder if Em had that in mind while he was writing stan but its pretty a nice coincidence.
