Yeah but as long as he's not that, who cares.
We know he's not that. For people to say he's doing features etc. for $$$ is ridiculous lmao.
Firstly - As if he needs it / has ever cared about it. Secondly - if he was so concerned about $$$ then he wouldn't still be trying to hard technically. There are a lot easier ways for him to ensure commercial success and therefore $$$ than doing the type of material he's done on most of Recovery.
People only see it as 'commercial' because HE is a commercial commodity now. But when you actually examine the content, he's as unfiltered and unapologetic (artistically, not literally about everything) as ever. Not saying he
succeeds in being as good, but he's certainly trying.
Thirdly, there are MUCH bigger pay-checks he could ensure for himself than putting out a re-release haha. Again, if he was money-hungry - Where are the reality shows, string of movies and irrelevant endorsements. Ricky Gervais said he got offered... I think it wasl ike $4 million or something to do a beer ad and he said no, out of integrity.
Now, if Ricky Gervais - A relatively big but still relatively unknown comedian and a SPECK of the type of artistic figure and celebrity Eminem is, gets offered that kind of money - What do you think EMINEM gets offered haha. He must get offers of hundreds of millions, every single day for all sorts of shit. Which he turns down.
Putting out a re-release and scraping some table scraps is hardly a way of cashing-in. The fact he's SO picky with everything, has kept his name like a respected brand and hasn't done another movie in 8 years - Because the MATERIAL hasn't been good enough, shows how incredibly integral he is. And money is the last thing on the list, it's an upshot for him.
I'm sure that if he does agree to a re-release, he sees it as a way to get new material heard without having to commit to a full-album and have all of the criticism and pressure that goes along with it. Therefore making it quite a desirable little gimmick to test tracks on.
