What has ruined Eminem...

...is his choice of producers on recent material. I'm talking about Eminem musically...nothing to do with his lyrical ability. i mean I understand an artist has to evolve and grow and all that jazz but as far as I'm concerned, Em doesn't have a "signature sound", if you like, anymore. Boi-1da, DJ Khalil, Script Shepherd (I hate Cinderella Man with a passion, sorry)....Alex da Kid? Seriously? F.B.T/Dre/Em/Mel-Man/Luis Resto etc production on Recovery would have made it a better album in my opinion. SSLP to Relapse beats were just raw, straight to the point and honest.

Musically Recovery feels like a bunch of random tracks. All his previous albums didn't have that many producers which gave them all a signature sound (like you said). If I was in charge, he should have let DJ Khalil and Dr. Dre have more beats on the album.

I agree, Recovery is by far the weakest Eminem album production-wise. I really enjoy Recovery, but that that was mostly because of Em and not the production.

you guys, it's always a good thing to take risk with new things, I still remember how everyone was excited about having Em working with new producers, if he never tried it you'll never know. He also said that he ALWAYS wanted to try new producers before but he's afraid to fail. I believe after lots of recording sessions he'll figure what producers work best with him (right now he seems to like to work with alex de kid & Khalil a lot)
