for no real reason so Royce called Em up to clear it up and they started chatting.

Em and Royce’s long overdue reconciliation was ironically initiated by one of Slim Shady’s newest rhyme partners taking shots at one of his oldest. “The Cashis thing was like a blessing,” says Royce of the recently released video interview wherein which Cashis threatens Royce over alleged insults made about Eminem. “That [situation] is what got me and Em [back] together. That’s why I didn’t really [address Cashis' comments]. He was just talking, not knowing who he talking about. I wasn’t gonna move [on him] until I found out what Em’s thoughts were [on the situation]. We done been through too much.”

Royce heard the SSEP and wanted to meet Eminem. (During his beef with D12, Proof claimed he was on a mission to find Eminem because Em had a good chance of getting signed)

On the night Royces grandma died, Royce did a show and said a line: "I'm ILLa than holding a bananna in front of a gorilla". Eminem heard this line and went nuts, and they met at the show and hit it off.

Because Eminem and Proof had a beef prior to Eminems fame, Royce became Eminems hypeman.
Eminem helped Royce get a deal with Tommyboy Records, but when Royce got his deal, he abandoned Eminem on tour. Eminem called Proof to be his hypeman, signed D12, lodi da.

Royce album flopped because Dre and Eminem didn't participate much on the album. After that, Royce wanted to get signed to Shady Records. Eminem claimed he was busy, then a little while later he signed 50 Cent. That was the breaking point.

A couple years later on the Anger Management tour, Royce said a line: "Fuck Anger Management, I need someone to manager my anger". D12 thought this was dissing the tour, and the beef began. They kicked Royce off the tour, fights started. Eminem didn't participate in the dissing but he cut his ties off with Royce.

Proof and Royce eventually ended their beef, then a little while later Proof was murdered.
Since then Em & Royce been working on their relationship.. He asked Paul Rosenberg to sign Slaughterhouse, and now there's rumors for a Bad Meets Evil album.




I think it's pretty funny, Royce tried to pimp Eminem back in the day. And now 10 years later, he's trying to pimp Eminem again, haha. I wonder if the situations were reversed if he would've helped Eminem out...

Em and Proof were childhood friends, Royce only met Eminem a few months before Eminem blew up, so I don't get where this "Oh they were such good friends" bullshit comes from

But for everybody's info Em & Royce met at an Usher concert in late '97/around 1998 & Em didn't participate in the D12/Royce beef, but he did have a line on a DJ Green Lantern tape- "Geez Rhinestones shine so nice, they're so bright, especially after a hit of ecstasy, right Royce, whoaaaaahhhh." Something like that <----.

And I don't think we know the whole extent as far as the Em/Proof problems back then. I think what happened was, Eminem got famous, they stopped talking for awhile because Em was hella busy working on music in general, mainly focusing on TSSLP, Dre's 2001 album & other shit. He also was big with the Outsidaz obviously back then but I think the same thing happened with them- Em just got busy working on music for him, except it seems The Outsidaz never made the same pact the D12 members did, that if one of the members blew up, that person would grab the rest of them & put them on their label. Another thing, Em didn't get his Shady Records label until right around when TMMLP dropped, correct? So what was he gonna do with D12 until he got his own label anyway? Nothing. After Royce peaced to do his own thing solo wise, and after Em was awarded his own label after the success of TSSLP, this is how I believe Em & Proof, Em & D12 got back in touch on a full-time basis communication & music wise .

Also Young Zee and Pacewun were big underground artists at that time, for a couple of years, so that made a little bit of a difference in the Em/Outsidaz departing as well. They had an image with the underground success they endured & maybe it was ok to them to stay that way, except they did want a little bit more recognition and money once their shit started to flop, so I think that's partially why Pace dissed Em for "leaving his boys."

This whole beef was just a missunderstanding that took like 5-6 years to get over.Reading this "letter" Royce wrote back in 2003,makes me understand Like toy soldier better.

Royce and Eminem were introduced to each other by someone, I can't remember. They instantly hit it off seeing as they were both from Detroit. The fallout had something to do with Em/D12 misinterpreting something Royce said/did about the Anger Management Tour. They reconciled after Proof's death because they realized that it was really stupid and Royce had said, back in 2008, him and Em are like brothers.
