The only thing wrong with hip hop is the fans. the closed minded ones more specifically. The ones that talk shit before they listen or cannot accept the evolution and diverse of what hip hop has become. The fans that feel like there above others by talking down on mainstream rappers and quick to mention they listen to underground and real rappers. The 1's that download illegally but complain about album sales.

Fucking idiotic "hip hop heads" who think Canibus is an amazing rapper (doh) yet prime-Eminem and Jay-Z aren't "real hip-hop".

The fucking underground/mainstream bullshit argument. It's all hip-hop. Categorise it into good/bad - there are a load of shitty underground rappers and some good mainstream rappers.

The fans who just follow what other people say (hip-hop sheep) - one person on YouTube says "Immortal tecnique is da dopest lyricist" and everyone just goes along with it

Young Money and their punchlines

The term "real hip hop". People should stop living in the 90's and move on, allow the genre to grow. Rock music has so many different sounds so why act like hip hop is something holy?

Pretentious snobs who think they're cool because they don't listen to Wayne. If he was "underground" they'd be bumping him daily.

I have to agree with this. I don't listen to hip hop on the radio much at all (unless I'm bored of my ipod while driving).. But I do like a lot of wayne's songs that aren't on the radio. I actually enjoyed most of the Carter 3 album. To be honest, there's only 3 or 4 other rappers who can style on a beat the way he does. I'm not saying he's complex, because he's not; Not at all. But his style is authentic (or was when he made it famous. Not so much anymore with everyone biting it). The only other rappers I know of who have very unique styles when it comes to mainstream are Em, T.I., Kanye and Hova.

To be honest, I enjoy the way Wayne puts a lot of his songs together. People jump on the bandwagon and hate because he's liked by so many people and they want to feel antagonistic. That's cool. I've never been much for either side of the fence, personally.

I agree with the fact that what's wrong with hip hop today is people's fucking ignorance. As Budden said, "Music is just what feelings sound like." -- If that shit hits an emotional chord with you, then it's good music; Regaurdless of what anyone else thinks. Shit, I listen to a mix of a bunch of different music from Alternative to emo to soft rock / classic rock; To underground hip hop like Slug, RA, Bro. Ali, most of rhymesayers actually; Sage Francis, spoonfull, copywrite, Budden... But then I'll throw on old school Em, Kanye, T.I., DMX, Wayne, One Republic, Asher Roth, Slick Rick, KRS to vibe to some old shit (yeah, fuck you all).. Shit, it doesn't matter to me. People need to open up their minds. Expand your horizons and stop living in a sheltered little box worried about what other people are going to say if you express your own, personal opinion. THAT is what's wrong with hip hop.

Have you heard his new stuff lol, until proven otherwise yes he has.

And I would never listen to Lil Wayne

You guys get me confused with the guy that loves and listens to all underground music. There are tons of underground rappers I listen to and don't like. I listen to good music, just so happens most of that is in the underground.
