How does Eminem record?

To record a song like Kim, you can't be reading off a sheet. You have to be moving your hands to generate that sort of emotion in your voice, if you get what I mean. Literally screaming into the microphone.

but i think when ur writing something and constantly reviewing it over and over,it gets stuck in your head.

Em is a perfectionist,propably records a verse like 8 times before he gets it right,or is fully satisfied with it,so by that time,he memorizes it.

Almost all rappers read their lyrics off a sheet of paper while recording. Most professionals anyway. You can't memorize every single verse you write, well, you could, but you don't need to. You can channel a great amount of energy with your voice while reading, you don't need to memorize the lyrics to do that. If you, yourself, have written said verse, you'll mostly remember, even if it's just vaguely, half of each bar. So, while you're reading you've enough time to focus on delivering it in a proper manner.

He has said multiple times that he raps off the lyric sheets, and he's the only one able to read them in the correct order since everything is scattered across the page.

I agree 100%. I think him reading the paper in those 2 videos were just for show. He'd be looking all over the damn page for the next line if he was reading sense none of his shit is in order.

Jay does that. Not Em. He reads them off of a paper. People think about it, we got REAL lyric sheets in TWIA book. That's proof right there that he uses paper to record. He's never really used technology to read off lyrics when recording because he never was a real technology guy until recent, and we have proof from the book, from videos etc.

that doesnt mean he reads off them, he writes his ideas and shit down. that's all you know for sure

I honestly don't think he has just one set way in recording. He probably does every thing mentioned. Depending on the song type and all that. But I'd think he probably knows exactly what he's doing most the time. LIke he's got the verse/lines/bars/rhymes, whatever, in his mind exactly how he wants it spit and just does it. I think he gets it 'perfectly' crafted the way he wants first.

Looking at the lyrics sheets...I highly doubt he could even read his own hand writing without squinting at some of that.

He obviously practices how he wants to pronounce each line and what he wants his flow and voice to sound like. So I would guess he is just spitting to the beat trying different things out until he figures out exactly how he wants it to sound. Then he records it. Simple. He memorizes most or all of the lyrics, but his lyric sheets also include codes to how he wants to enunciate so maybe he has the paper in the booth for that purpose.
