Strictly underground rap fans who hate on mainstream rap. I dont hate them, I just think they all are retarded and annoying. They all have this blasphemic reason why do they hate on mainstream, which I find...haha, childish, I guess.

But somehow I get them. Its "cool" to do that nowadays.

^Moron. Wiz Khalifa is very unique. So is Drake, it's just everyone started copying his punchline style. Find me anyone similar to Cudi. No one is like Kanye. Yelawolf (not a big fan) is insanely unique on songs like Pop the Trunk. Jay still has his trademark flow. So does TI. Do you honestly think there are no unique rappers out?

First of all you don't know who I'm talking about so pulling random rapper names out of your ass is retarded. Wiz Khalifa is Snoop Dogg v.2, Drake as much as i like him has very Wayne-esque punchlines (so has Em in scarce occasions), every rapper after either Cudi, B.o.B, or Kanye decided to dedicate some of their time singing on their songs, Yelawolf sucks so idc, Jay-Z copies Biggie and his lines whenever he can, T.I. is singing way too much just like B.o.B does (coincidence that he signed him? NO.).

With that said those rappers have unique things to them but a portion of their styles are taken from other rappers.

-Wiz is nothing like Snoop, other than they both love weed
-I didn't say I liked Yelawolf. Pop the Trunk s sick, but he mostly blows
-Every rapper takes things from other. e.g. Eminem's Infinite took a lot from Nas' style. As for singing, is there anything wrong with expanding your horizons? Look at all the artists working with hip hop stars today: Bon Iver and LeRoux with Kanye, Ratatat with Cudi, Robin Thicke with Wayne, Jay Z loves Coldplay, etc. Hiphop isn't a thug music form anymore.

Wiz even looks like Snoop for fuck's sake...

And I'm not saying singing in rap music is bad, I like it. But, why did all these rappers start doing these things after the outburst of singing rappers like B.o.B, Cudi, & Kanye on 808?

And I actually like all these rappers but I'm just making a point.

Yeah he's just like Snoop, minus the corn rows, the face, and the persona. Basically, their both skinny black guys.

And they started singing because they realized it added another dimension to their music. Same reason rap lyrics went from rhyming single syllables to "I murder a rhyme one word at a time, you never heard of a mind as perverted as mine." Music evolves.

Why? He is right. Hip Hop, like any other music genre, evolves over time. Eminem's style was taken from Rakim/Nas/Redman/ICP, and Snoop influenced Wiz, there is nothing wrong with that. All the artists he named did work with those Hip Hop artists. There is nothing wrong with working with other genres. It's music, and music is music. There is no standard definition of a Hip Hop song. There is always influences from other genres, e.g. Jaz, Blues, Rock, Pop, or whatever.

I agree but it's gotta be harder for artists now because so many styles have come out. Shock value isn't as shocking anymore thanks to Eminem lol Artists know that if they diss stars, they'll be labelled as an Eminem-copy.

Yeah I know but it just seems so obvious when these artists are "influenced" by another. Drake is Wayne 2.0, Wiz is Snoop 2.0, etc... it just looks extremely obvious to me.

Drake is insanely different than Wayne. I thought so too at first, but quickly realized I was wrong.
Voice: Drake sings, raps smooth. Wayne has a very gravely voice
Bars: Wayne's are all over, Drake's are very structured and put together
Appearance: Wayne is a 5'6'' hood goblin with dreads covered in tats and peircings, Drake is a tall half-Jewish guy who dresses well, has a low fade, and has no tats or earrings
Song topics: They overlap a little, but Drake is much more emotional/sensitive/makes love songs. Overall they are very different, plus Drake barely mentions weed
