Just threw this on in the car today, damn his rhyming, flows and overall structure on those songs/verses was mindblowing, for what it was, it was amazing...for rap in general more a 'how to' than anything

I could never understand the hate for Relapse. Especially Refill.

Combining the lyrics and flow of Relapse with the emotion, aggression and some story telling abilities of Recovery (Going Through Changes, Talkin' 2 Myself, Almost Famous, etc.) we would have the ultimate classic.

I didn't criticize it. But I prefer Recovery to it. Recovery has way more replay value for me, but his rhymes and flows on Relapse were mindblowing. The storytelling was class, too

Recovery has the serious Eminem that I liked. He also added some "crazy, fuck the world" songs too. I think this is a good combination of Eminem and Shady, who is slightly less shady than before. Which is fine by me, I mean, my first Eminem album was TES, so...I'm more used to Eminem than Slim Shady

powerful thread. so much truth in this thread.

relapse just needed to be tweaked. i mean the only song that he over did the accent was 3am imo, everything else you can barely hear it/it fits with the song. the only other problem was that the 2 singles were horrible. should have replaced them with the itunes bonus track and released Hello as the first single. and maybe 1 or 2 less serial killer songs and 1 or 2 more personal songs to balance it out.

Em said himself he started looking at what was hot in mainstream rap and started incorporating it into his new style.

stans wont admit it but if wayne had said that stupid window pane/donkey with parkinsons/standing on my monopoly board shit they would be using it to call him the worst rapper ever etc.

its painful to hear him shout over the beat like he did on Recovery when we all saw how crazy he can still flow on Relapse.

i also think Relapse had the best production of any Eminem album. the perfect balance between bangers while still letting Em's vocals be the focus.

Both are good albums in there own right.

But
Rhyming/Flow=Relapse
Production=Relapse

Relapse/Refill had either great tracks or shit tracks. Recovery had good tracks with no shit tracks plus one or two great tracks. Personally i play the best relapse/refill tracks a little more than the best Recovery tracks but as an overall Album Recovery>Relapse/Refill.

I expected Recovery to have him use the Warning style voice. Still a good album though no doubt. I think if Recovery had better production we would enjoy it more.

Just be glad he is still putting out good music and has the potential to put out something incredible, i think he is finding himself slowly.
