okay this is what stupid is:

Eminem used to rap about drugs.
Eminem sold extremely well when he rapped about drugs.
Eminem became sober.
Eminem raps about drugs again.

Now, define sell out. Em would have been way more of a sellout if he rapped about drugs when he is sober. He proved he could sell with that style. This is something completely different, sure the song isn't his best work, but he definitely didn't sell out for making it. He did something completely different, and above all he was honest, which is what Eminem is all about anyways.

Comparing one of the best songs of all time, Lose Yourself, to Not Afraid (a shitty, cheesy, cliched, self pitying song with a moaning Eminem rhyming craply, using embarrasing punchlines, apologising to retarded fans with a horrible hook and bridge) makes me sick.

Third verse is one of my favourite on the album because of the emotion in the last lines Even if it is self pitying I'd say that's ok when he has been in a dark place for so long. Yeah, when he released this he had been clean for some time, but when you have been a drug addict for years it seems pretty natural to write about such stuff.

The wordplay of the song makes it different to other songs so I wouldn't say it's cliched, although the "come take my hand"-part sounds like something every other artist has done before.

Why is the rhyming crap? First verse has some pretty intense multis.

Only flaws are the ticking drums (no idea why every producer are fond of those these days) and a few of the punchlines.

i must admit, this song is the bomb, it hits home for me cuz i sort of am addicted to pain killers, if anybody has ever had a torn tissue in there knee they would know what i'm talkin about, i'v been walking around for the past 9 years with a torn tissue, i'v had surgery but it only seemed to fuck it up worse, so i litterally been walkin on pain killers for about 4 years now, cuz i realised it feels better, and i'm more calm, but i realise that shit's only screwin with my head to, but it's not like i can just drop it, the pain kilelrs help, much like eminem's sleeping pills and what not helped him, so yeah, i relate to this song
