Best intro/opening song on an album

Postby DanWS » Nov 27th, '10, 05:28

What's your favourite Intro or opener to an album?

Mine's gotta be the Intro to Stillmatic. Such a classic beat to get the album off to a blazing start.

Kill You, MMLP. When that is the opening song, you know the album will be nuts.

White America.
"Cold Wind Blows". (nothing will ever match the first time I heard that, just had a massive grin on)
"3AM" (the second the beat starts, oh yeah)
"I Ain't No Joke" by Eric B & Rakim. ("I ain't no joke, I used to let the mic smoke, now I slam it on the ground and make sure it's broke.")
"NY State Of Mind" by Nas
"SOUND OFF" by Slaughterhouse. If you need a reason why it's probably the best opening on any hip-hop album, you crazy)

Totally agree with you on this one, Dan.

Hey yo, the brother's Stillmatic...
I crawled up out of that grave, wipin' the dirt, cleanin' my shirt
They thought I'll make another Illmatic...
But it's always forward I'm movin', never backwards stupid, here's another classic

:worship: :worship:
...The mortician of love, sent from above
Forced entry, the more wenchy, the more stingy I become
Been doing this for more than a quarter century, I'm just numb...
