Well, that goes to show you that I've watched very little times, invalidating your argument that I'm a stan. You lose. And I bet that I know 500 times more hip hop than your kanye dick sucking ass.

wu tang's scheme and music is probably way too smart for 90% of rap fans. wu tang is almost like perfect rap, the way they did it, they perfected the concept of rap, but with that doesn't come with too much replay value.

mobb deep are great too, and have more entertainment value.

i personally prefer the queensbridge mc's, but wu tang is the greatest hip hop group, that's easy.
The New York Times - "Lloyd Banks may have stealthily become the most important rapper in New York".

Old ass thread that I'm bumping but if you don't like it you can suck my cock. Anyway I'm surprised so many prefered Mobb Deep over Wu Tang.Like others said it's not really fair to compare a duo to a freakin nine man group at least compare Wu Tang to a group like The Roots/ AOTP/ NWA etc and compare Mobb Deep to duos like MOP/Black Starr/ Binary Star etc.

I'm from Staten but still prefer Mobb Deep, the only member that I really like is Ghostface the rest are great no doubt, but eh. They also had more influence and dropped some real gems, but they've also dropped some serious deuces in their career.

So really I guess you can narrow it down to Prodigy vs Ghostface for me. Ghostface is great lyrically and is a master of hardcore hip hop, but so is Prodigy. Prodigy isn't as proficient lyrically, but he probably has the best voice in rap and I've always loved his straight to the gut one liners no filler lines just about every line can be taken out of context and still sound dope (he is one of the most sampled rappers after all), Ghostface's delivery is also distinct and one of my favorite BK accents, but at times his street slang just confuses the shit out of me and he's gotten heat for it too. (Nutmeg anyone).

Consistancy no doubt goes to Ghostface he's one of the most consistant mcess, he had no garbage albums minus Ghostdeini and three Classics (Ironman, Supreme Clientele, Fishscales) add in his numerous other verses on classics albums like OB4CL,OB4CL 2(not really a classic but whatever)36 chambers, Wu Forever and it's clear his material is undeniable.

The Infamous and Hell on Earth are in my top 10 personal favorite hip hop albums ever though, they were the kings of that noir gutter east coast sound. No other album during that era came close in embodying that hardcore noir rap like they did. Not Dah Shinin, Not LOPD, not War Report, or whatever album you want to throw at me.

As Prodigy said, "Me and my man pioneered this violent nigga rap shit"
:worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

(Yeah I know there were other hardcore rap groups before them)

Seriously though someone should have made DITC vs Wu Tang.
I mean you got guys like Big L, OC, Lord Finesse, Fat Joe (he was dope back in the day), Diamond D. They've never released a group album that matches 36 chambers or even Wu forever, but Word...Life, Stunts Blunts and Hip Hop, LOPD, Funky Technician are all classics and give some of the Wu solos for a run for their money.

BCC would have even sufficed.

You don't think it's a dope beat?

But seriously Prodigy's last verse on Hell on Earth (Frontlines) is one of the best hardcore rap verses I've ever heard. His flow, diction, pacing, delivery, voice everything's there.

The Infamous was one of the first albums I ever heard because my brother was a fan of them and Nas. Mobb Deep for me probably because they got me into rap. I liked Infamous, Hell on Earth and Murda Muzik. Prodigy like dead prez said had such a cool laid back voice and Havoc was unforgettable production wise.
